Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, September 28, reveal that Abe Carver (James Reynolds) was babysitting Rachel Black at Julie’s Place when Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) arrived.
Lani was upset about Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) being the new DA, and she asked Abe to fire Melinda. Abe refused on the grounds that he preferred to let the legal system run its course, and that ultimately the judge would decide if Melinda should be recused from the case.
Lani didn’t like Abe’s stance, but she accepted it, and Abe wondered what Trask had on Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) other than Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) statement about her stabbing him.
Lani flashed back, reminding viewers that only Lani and Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) know that Kristen confessed to stabbing Victor. Abe asked if there was something that he didn’t know, and Lani left abruptly to head to Kristen’s arraignment.
In the Salem PD squad room, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) argued with Melinda over dropping Kristen’s case, with Melinda flatly refusing. Melinda spotted Eli walking into the interrogation room, and she cornered him with questions about Victor’s stabbing.
Eli hid from Melinda the fact that Lani had allowed Kristen to escape from police custody, and he said simply that Kristen was gone when he arrived at the station.
Melinda then asked Eli for a full account of everything that happened in the station on the day that Kristen escaped, since she believed that Kristen got tipped off that she was about to be arrested.
Melinda took off, and later Lani arrived in the interrogation room, where Eli said that they had a problem, and that Melinda wanted a full report on the day that Kristen escaped, including security footage. “And we both know where that will lead,” Eli warned.
In the park, Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) seemed genuinely happy to see Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), but Allie was not happy to see Tripp. “Why are you here? How’d you find me?” Allie asked, upset.
Tripp didn’t understand why Allie was upset, and he explained that his family is from Salem. Tripp tried to ask how Allie was and what she’d been up to, but Allie slapped him and called him a jerk.
Allie tried to run off, and Tripp grabbed Allie’s arm, waning to know why he slapped her. “I have nothing to say to you!” Allie fumed. Tripp went on, saying that he thought about her a lot after that night in London. “I had something a lot more important on my mind than you!” Allie fired back.
Tripp asked what, but Allie said that he should pretend that he never saw her, and with that Allie left. Tripp looked stunned.
At the hospital, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) played cards, and soon Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) brought in an apple pie. John cracked that hr hates apple pie, then he caught himself and apologized for his outburst.
Later, Brady arrived to see John, and John got up to speed on Kristen’s arraignment and Melinda’s vendetta.
John had another outburst, this time railing against Victor for causing all the problems for Kristen and Brady to begin with. Brady seemed worried about his dad.
Out at the nurses’ station, Steve and Kayla were discussing Tripp’s desire to finish out medical school in Salem when Tripp walked up. Kayla got paged, and Steve asked Tripp what was wrong, since he seemed rattled.
Tripp explained to Steve that he ran into a girl that he knew a while back, and that it was very awkward. Tripp explained that her name was Allie, and that her family lives in Salem, too. “Allie Horton?” Steve asked. “She’s John’s granddaughter. She was living in London and came back to Salem to have her baby.” Tripp looked shocked.
At Nicole Brady’s (Arianne Zucker) apartment, Nicole sat with Henry Horton (Delaney and Parker Evans) when Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) arrived. Kate quickly learned that the baby was named Henry, and that launched Kate and Nicole into a discussion of the baby’s father.
Nicole thought that the father should take responsibility, and Kate thought that perhaps Allie would open up about the situation with the father now that Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) was gone.
Kate took off, and Allie returned to the apartment. Nicole immediately sensed that something was wrong, since Allie was shaking. “I ran into someone I hoped I’d never see again,” Allie said. “Henry’s father.” Allie explained that his name was Tripp, and Nicole suspected that it was Tripp Dalton – Steve Johnson’s son. “Oh,” Allie said.
