Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers preview teases that we’re in for an eventful week on the NBC soap. The new DOOL promo for the week of August 17 to August 21 is full of some big happenings, so let’s get right into it.
First off, there’s the much-anticipated return of Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson). Viewers last saw Philip appear in the “Last Blast Reunion” digital series on the DOOL app, but now he’s back home in Salem where he belongs! That’s great news for DOOL fans.
Philip will return to the Kiriakis mansion, and his dad Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) will be pleased as punch. Philip is shown in the DOOL preview promo happily standing in the Kiriakis mansion.
Days of Our Lives spoilers indicate that there will be a couple of Salemites who won’t be entirely thrilled to have Philip back in action. First off, Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) won’t be sure of what golden boy Philip’s return will mean for him.
Well, it looks like Philip will return with a specific goal in mind – to get that CEO spot at Titan Industries, which is a spot that Xander will be vying for as well.
DOOL spoilers say that Xander will ask Victor for the top spot back, and Victor will be mulling it over when Philip returns and wants the spot for himself. It’s not too hard to imagine Victor picking his son over Xander, so there should be some real conflict there.
Another person who might not be happy with the return of Philip is Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer), who will probably wonder whether he needs to worry about his marriage to Belle Black (Martha Madison).
DOOL viewers will remember that Belle has cheated with Philip in the past, and so Shawn may wonder if Philip has his sights set on Belle again, or vice versa.
But it doesn’t appear that this will be the case, since Philip may still be interested in Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), who will soon be returning to Salem as well. Plus, Belle is shown in the promo telling Shawn that Philip is out of her system.
At any rate, the DOOL promo indicates that Philip will be kicking off a reunion of the Last Blast Crew, which for now will include Belle, Shawn, and Philip.
The new Days promo also touches on a big battle that will ramp up between Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) and other members of her family. Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) recently took off from the hospital, leaving a note saying that she wanted Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) to raise her new baby boy.
Well, that won’t sit well with Sami, and she will get Belle to serve Eric and Nicole with a restraining order preventing them from taking custody of the baby.
Sami will be a force, but the promo shows Nicole fighting back, telling a raging Sami that “you started this fight and we’re not going to back down.” Sami is also shown physically charging at Nicole, with Eric once again having to break up the altercation.
It looks like we’re in for some major drama here, as Sami does everything in her power to make sure that Nicole gets nowhere near her grandson.
This will all occur after Sami takes Baby Boy Horton and moves him into Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) penthouse. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Nicole and Eric will come over to see the baby, but Sami will have none of it, and she’ll want Nicole and Eric out of there.
As Sami, Nicole, and Eric are bickering, John will arrive and break up the argument, ushering Nicole and Eric out of the penthouse
Then, a really scary scene will unfold. The Days of Our Lives preview shows Sami having it out with John, who will be determined to tell Sami a thing or two.
It looks like John will decide that he’s not going to let Sami just tear through the family and hurt the people he loves, but Sami will once again latch onto the fact that John’s not her father and that he needs to mind his own business.
Sami is shown screaming at John, as John clutches the back of his head and stumbles, then falls to the ground suddenly. Sami looks absolutely horrified, as the argument apparently propels John into the collapse.
Sami will probably immediately assume that John had a stroke by the way he was clutching his head before he collapsed, but DOOL viewers will have to tune in to see exactly what the medical team has to say about the reason for John’s collapse.
At any rate, John will be in the hospital unconscious and in pretty dire condition afterwards, so there’s plenty of drama ahead.
