Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) will be home by the end of November, so it’s time to start thinking about his next big storyline. Rafe and Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) obviously won’t be able to continue their romance, but life will go on!
You can bet Rafe will rejoin the Salem PD and keep himself busy as he copes with his heartache.
Of course, DOOL writers will also want to reestablish Rafe and Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) bond. Rafe will certainly have sympathy for Allie when he hears about her rape accusations. This should put Rafe in Nicole Brady’s (Arianne Zucker) orbit and kick off a new romance.
Days recently released a new cast photo, which features Arianne Zucker with her hand on Galen Gering’s shoulder. Now that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) is helping in the Congo and Hope’s off searching for Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal), it looks like Nicole and Rafe are eventually going to be a couple.
However, it could be a long and complicated journey to get there. How might Days of Our Lives pull Rafe and Nicole closer? One easy way would be tackling a mystery together.
DOOL viewers know Nicole solved the baby swap mystery, which led to Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton being exposed as Rachel Black (Rosalind and Josephine May).
Perhaps a new baby-related mystery is on the horizon – one that Rafe could be a huge help in solving. Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) definitely shares DNA with Henry Horton (Jayna and Kinsley Fox), but is he really Henry’s father?
Once Rafe gets updates on Tripp’s claims, he might do some digging to see if Tripp is telling the truth.
It’d be easy for this case to remind Rafe of a previous case involving David Ridgeway (Kyler Ends). When Ciara came to Rafe with her theory that David’s father killed Jordan Ridgeway (Chrishell Stause), Rafe was certain the only DNA found at the scene belonged to David and Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson).
Nevertheless, Ciara pushed Rafe to accept another possibility. She argued that maybe the DNA was misinterpreted and insisted assumptions were the mother of all mistakes. Ciara added that there had to be some similarities in the DNA that could’ve caused confusion.
Rafe was stunned when Ciara was proven right – and that led to Evan Frears aka Christian Maddox (Brock Kelly) being convicted of Jordan’s murder. That case likely taught Rafe a valuable lesson about how things aren’t always as they seem.
Will Rafe think back on that once he comes home to this DNA debate? Rafe might open Nicole’s eyes to the possibility that someone with similar DNA actually raped Allie – like a secret fraternal twin or brother of Tripp’s.
Charlie Dale (Mike Manning) seems like the most likely rapist candidate, but the point is Rafe and Nicole might work together to crack the case. They’d probably want to do it behind Allie’s back, but that’d just make it even more dramatic once she found out!
