Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) recently made Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) a big promise. After Kayla’s ordeal with Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) where she nearly became the surrogate for Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) cloned embryo, she was very upset, and it brought back a lot of buried feelings.
Specifically, Kayla told Steve that she hadn’t felt the that kind of rage and humiliation since she was raped. Steve was horrified and felt terribly that Kayla had gone through such an ordeal again.
Soon thereafter, Steve and Kayla discussed the paternity test they secretly conducted on Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) and Henry Horton (Kinsley and Jayna Fox). Kayla wondered what Steve would do when the results came back, and Steve indicated that he’d accept the results either way.
Kayla was glad to hear that from Steve, and together they decided that no matter how the paternity tests came back, they’d deal with it together. Well, Days of Our Lives spoilers indicate that it’s not going to go quite the way that Steve and Kayla planned.
It’s looking like the results may come back showing that Tripp is Henry’s father – which could be the real result or the result of some tampering on someone’s part.
Whatever the case, Days of Our Lives spoilers say that Steve will feel compelled to take Tripp’s word on the results, and that certainly sounds like Tripp’s going to wholly dispute a result “proving” that he’s Henry’s father.
But if Steve goes ahead and believes Tripp despite the results saying that Tripp’s the father, then we have to imagine that this is going to cause some serious trouble between Steve and Kayla.
In fact, under ordinary circumstances Steve’s decision to back his son in the face of the DNA test results would probably cause problems for him and Kayla, but these will be far from ordinary circumstances.
Kayla will have just been through the horrifying near-victimization by Rolf, and all her feelings about her rape will be at the forefront of her mind. To have Steve refuting the DNA evidence and supporting his son over Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) will be unfathomable for Kayla.
We suspect that Steve and Kayla are going to have a really difficult time working through this, and especially since Steve will have promised to accept the paternity test results from the get-go.
Kayla may even start to rethink her reunion with Steve and wonder if sticking with Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) might have been a better choice!
