Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 13, reveal that Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) and Gwen (Emily O’Brien) woke up in bed at the DiMera mansion, but Jake immediately irritated Gwen when he didn’t want to make love.
Gwen grumped that Jake’s lack of desire better not be about Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus). Gwen then quipped that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) was probably putting an end to Gabi’s manipulative ways, which Jake thought was an odd statement. Jake left to go get some breakfast.
In the DiMera living room, Chad walked in as Gabi was on the phone with Li Shin (Remington Hoffman). Gabi was telling Shin that Chad obviously had other priorities, and she got flustered when she saw Chad standing there.
Gabi stammered that she thought Chad was in Florida. “I was until I found out about your little stunt last night with Shin,” Chad said. Chad proceeded to tell Gabi that he was onto her and that Shin was onto her.
Chad then headed up to Gwen and Jake’s room where he found Gwen alone. Gwen complained about Gabi using Jake, and Chad thanked Gwen for tipping him off about Gabi’s stunt last night.
Gwen explained about how Jake wasn’t particularly enthusiastic in bed this morning, and that it was Gabi’s fault. Chad asked Gwen to keep spying on Gabi, and that Gabi had no clue that Gwen was his secret spy.
Back down in the living room, Jake walked in to find Gabi still there, and he told Gabi that he thought the deal with the investor was still salvageable.
Gabi and Jake argued over whether Jake should meet with the investor again, and Gabi said it was too late because Chad was back and knew about their meeting last night. Jake started to wonder whether Gwen had tipped Chad off. Gabi was sure of it.
At Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) penthouse, Marlena walked in as Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) left a message for Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold).
Claire covered and said she was leaving a message for Ciara Weston (Victoria Konefal). Marlena shared that Belle Black (Martha Madison) and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) were going to let Claire stay in Salem, and that they were going to stay, too.
Talk turned to Allie and how she wanted Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) to raise her son, but Claire didn’t divulge that she helped Allie run off. Marlena got a call about an appointment, and she said she’d drop Claire off to go see Ciara on her way to the hospital.
At the police station, Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) stopped by to see Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) looking for news on whether the NYPD had found Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva). Rafe agreed to put out an APB on Eve in Salem, just in case Eve returned. Rafe and Hope shared some warm moments talking about their love for Ciara, and they touched briefly on some of the good times they had when they were married.
Later, Rafe asked Hope if she’d consider returning to the Salem PD, and he whipped out her old badge and laid it on the desk. Hope said that she had done too much damage at the department before, but Rafe said he’d be thrilled to welcome her back.
Eventually, Hope agreed and she and Rafe nearly kissed but simply hugged. “Welcome back,” Rafe said happily.
At a no-tell motel, Vincent (Michael Teh) and Eve walked into a room. Eve was wearing a short black wig, and she went on about how she had to come back to Salem to see the look on Ben Weston’s (Robert Scott Wilson) face after he kills Ciara.
Eve whined about why Ben didn’t kill Ciara last night, and she griped about Vincent’s drug possibly being a dud. Vincent said it wasn’t a dud, and that it would work. Eve left to go over to the Salem Inn to snoop around.
At the Salem Inn, Ben had a terrible nightmare about choking Ciara to death. Ben woke up terrified, but he told Ciara that he didn’t remember the dream. Ciara thought that Ben should make an appointment with Marlena, and Ben agreed.
After securing an appointment with Marlena, Ben and Ciara made love, then happily left the hotel together. Eve saw Ben and Ciara leave and walk into town square.
Ben and Ciara promptly bumped into Claire, and Eve lurked behind some greenery and listened to their conversation. Ben hugged Claire and thanked her for figuring out that Eve was the person targeting him.
Claire said that she was happy that Ben was ok, and that she wanted Ben and Ciara to be happy. Ben and Ciara said that they were, and they kissed. “Not for long,” Eve said to herself, still hiding.
Ben and Ciara told Claire that Ben had a therapy session with Marlena shortly because of a nightmare he had. Eve listened intently, and she took off. Ben took off, too, and Ciara and Claire talked about getting their friendship back on track.
Over in the park, Eve called Vincent and told him that Ben was headed to Marlena’s office. “Make sure that session never happens!” Eve barked to Vincent. “Give him a dose guaranteed to make Ben kill Ciara!’
After Eve hung up, she was alone in the park when Claire came along and bumped into her. “Eve, is that you?” Claire said. And over at Marlena’s office, Ben walked in and found Vincent sitting in Marlena’s chair.
