Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 27, reveal that Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) strenuously objected to Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) big courtroom assertion that Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) murdered Deimos Kiriakis (Vincent Irizarry).
The judge said that she remembered Deimos’ murder being unsolved, but Sami insisted that Nicole murdered Deimos and that Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) had blackmailed Nicole with a tape of her confession to the murder.
The judge asked Nicole if there was any truth to this, and Nicole lied and said no. Sami said that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) knew the truth, and that he is the one who told her about Xander’s blackmail.
Eric then lied and said that he had no memory of telling Sami any of that. Sami fumed, and the judge told her to pipe down as Eric said that Sami was lying. The judge took this all in, then recessed the hearing and said that she’d announce her decision tomorrow.
After the judge left, Justin took off, and Sami raged at Eric for lying to protect Nicole. Eric said that Sami could tell the judge anything she wanted, but that no one would believe her, and that he was standing by his wife. Nicole and Eric left, and Same raged and threw things in anger.
At Paige Larson’s (True O’Brien) abandoned dorm room, Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) burst in the room and found Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) sitting on the floor crying.
Frantically, Hope asked what Ben had done and were Ciara Weston (Victoria Konefal) was. Hope tried to call Ciara, then realized that Ciara’s phone was in the room. Ben recalled knocking the phone out of Ciara’s hands, but he couldn’t remember anything else, and he was beside himself.
Hope told Ben that Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva) had told her everything about the brainwashing. Hope said that she knew Ben had been programmed, and Ben cried that he had tried to stop himself. Ben then tearfully recounted what had happened, and how he pushed Ciara into the bathroom and stood over her with the necktie in his hands.
Ben continued, rehashing how he had tried to stop himself from killing Ciara and made Ciara lock herself in the bathroom. Ben recounted how he punched a hole in the door and went in the bathroom, but Ben couldn’t remember what happened next.
Hope got upset and she took Ben over to the radiator and handcuffed him to it, then she picked up her phone to call Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering).
Meanwhile, at the Hernandez house, Eduardo Hernandez (A Martinez) told Rafe that after he got out of prison, he got into business with the wrong people and that things went south.
Eduardo said that the whole family was in danger, and that someone already tried to shoot Dario Hernandez (Jordi Vilasuso), and that Dario had to go off the grid.
Rafe insisted that he could handle anyone coming after him, but Eduardo said that the people after him made threats against Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) and that they had to get Gabi out of Salem right now.
Rafe then got a call from Hope, but Eduardo took Rafe’s phone and smashed it, saying that there was no way that Rafe could tell another cop what was going on here.
Back at the dorm room, Hope left a message for Rafe saying that she needed his help. Hope left to go search for Ciara, and Ben told himself that there was no way that he hurt Ciara, but he was frustrated that he didn’t remember what had happened.
Hope returned, unable to find Ciara, and she told Ben to think and remember what happened.
Ben then remembered going into the bathroom after Ciara, pulling back the shower curtain, and finding Ciara sitting on the floor terrified.
Ben remembered telling Ciara that he didn’t want to do this as he walked toward her, as Ciara stood up and told Ben to fight it and take back control.
Continuing on with his flashback, Ciara told Ben that she loved him and that he’d never take her life from her. Ben told Ciara that he loved her with his whole heart, and they kissed, but he said that he had to do this, as he walked toward her with the necktie in his hands.
Ben then flashed back to the present, sobbing and yelling “no” as Hope yelled at Ben asking him what he did.
At the DiMera mansion, Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) pulled away from the kiss with Gabi, saying that he had a girlfriend. Gabi said that they needed to admit that they wanted each other, and Jake said that Gabi only wanted him because he looked like Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).
Gabi replied that she knew he wasn’t Stefan, but that she didn’t care. Gabi and Jake kissed again and fell to the bed.
After making love, Jake told Gabi that she should leave before Gwen (Emily O’Brien) returns, but it was too late, and Gwen barged in. Gwen started ranting and raving, and Gabi told Gwen not to act all superior since she was just kissing Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) yesterday.
Gwen lunged at Gabi, and Jake broke up a near squabble.
Gabi took off, and Gwen griped at Jake for sleeping with Gabi, then she noticed Stefan’s suit lying around and wondered what was going on. Jake explained about Gabi wanting him to go to Kansas City, and Gwen said that they had agreed that Jake wouldn’t go to Kansas City.
Gwen thought that Jake slept with Gabi out of revenge, but Jake said that wasn’t it – that there was really something between him and Gabi, and that he and Gwen needed to break up.
Down in the living room, Gabi was startled when Eduardo and Rafe burst in. Gabi wasn’t happy to see Eduardo, and she blasted him for old mistakes and wondered when he had gotten out of prison.
Eduardo said that there was no time for talking, and that Gabi needed to leave Salem now and that her life was in danger. Rafe explained that Eduardo brought trouble with him, but Gabi balked. “I’m not going anywhere with you!” Gabi said defiantly.
