Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 4, reveal that Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) lashed out at Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) near the Labor & Delivery nurses’ station.
Sonny ranted and raved about Sami’s interference in the adoption, and Will Horton (Chandler Massey) interjected that Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) told them the news. Sami quickly realized that Sonny didn’t know that Will had known about Sami’s interference all along.
Sonny kept railing against Sami, questioning whether she really wanted them to have the baby. Finally, Sonny had enough, and he said that he and Will would go talk with Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold). Will looked like he was in total misery, but he couldn’t get a word in edgewise to tell Sonny the truth about what he knew and when.
In Allie’s room, Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) learned from Allie that Sami bullied Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) into turning down Allie’s adoption offer. Lucas looked uncomfortable, and Allie quickly realized that Lucas had known about Sami’s interference. Allie squawked about that, and she asked Lucas to leave.
Meanwhile, at the police station, Rafe talked with Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) briefly. Hope was in New York City looking for Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva) and wanted to update Rafe.
Soon, Rafe got a call from Allie asking him to come by the hospital. Rafe arrived the hospital in short order, and Allie said that she knew what her mom did. Rafe told Allie that what he told her about losing David Ridgeway (Kyler Ends) and not being ready to adopt was 100% true.
Allie then asked Rafe what he would have decided if Sami hadn’t bullied him. Viewers didn’t hear Rafe’s answer. Meanwhile, Lucas and Sami talked briefly as they looked at their new grandson in the nursery, and later Sami was gazing at the baby when Rafe walked up. Rafe told Sami that Allie asked her to come to talk about the baby.
Back in Allie’s room, Will and Sonny arrived. Sonny did all the talking, telling Allie they heard what Sami did and that her little boy would be loved and cherished. Sonny handed Allie the adoption papers, but Allie said that she wasn’t going to sign them.
In New York at the .com café, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) said that she hadn’t seen Eve recently, then she learned that Eve was suspected of bombing the church and kidnapping Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson). Chloe just didn’t think it could have been Eve, but Hope sensed that there was more that Chloe knew.
Chloe told Hope, Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer), Ciara Weston (Victoria Konefal), and Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) that she had seen Eve back in January, and that she had changed.
Chloe described a much darker Eve who was bitter and embracing her victimhood. “She had gone to a dark place,” Chloe said. Chloe also said that Eve had talked terribly about Ben and that she wanted to avenge Paige Larson’s (Eve Donovan) death.
Chloe went on, describing Eve’s erratic behavior and saying that Eve resurfaced a while later and seemed like she had a new purpose in life.
Chloe said Eve had met someone named “Vincent” who had a job at Daybreak Clinic outside of the city. Claire looked up the clinic on her phone, and Hope and Ciara took off to go to the clinic. Soon, Chloe bid Shawn and Claire farewell, and Claire admitted to Shawn that she was very afraid for Ben if Eve really took him.
At the clinic, Eve told Ben to kill Ciara and end his pain. As Ben stood before the Ciara mannequin, he held a necktie in his hand and nearly strangled the mannequin.
Having been drugged, Ben hallucinated that Ciara was actually standing before him, and soon his vision of Ciara said, “Run.” Ben broke away from Vincent (Michael Teh) and Eve and tried to escape, but he was caught out in the entryway to the clinic.
Eve decided that Ben needed more conditioning, and Vincent hit Ben a couple times with a baton, then threw his necktie at him. Later, Ben was back on the gurney in restraints and Eve taunted him about killing Ciara some more.
Eve complained about Ben escaping execution for Jordan Ridgeway’s (Chrishell Stause) murder, and she threatened to kill him but said it would be too easy.
Eve played some of Paige’s music for Ben and taunted him about how he wasn’t going to get his happily ever after. Viewers then saw Eve rage at Ben, and Vincent continued trying to condition Ben into associating pain with Ciara and pleasure with killing, all while drugging Ben some more.
Later, Hope and Ciara showed up at the clinic door. Ciara immediately saw Ben’s necktie on the ground. “Oh my God, this is the necktie Ben wore at our wedding!” Ciara exclaimed.
Hope and Ciara walked into the warehouse and were apparently horrified by what they saw. They then approached the area where Ben had been tortured.
