Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, December 9, reveal that Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) witnessed Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) throwing a fit in the park.
Gwen claimed to be just blowing off steam, and she said that she threw a fit because Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) did to Jennifer what Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) did to her. “Everything just came boiling up,” Gwen claimed.
Gwen then went on about how Jack had not only slept with Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow), but that he had lied about it too. Gwen went on, and Jennifer got angrier until Gwen suggested that Jennifer take the bat and beat up the nearby poinsettias.
Jennifer threw a fit of her own, which secretly amused Gwen. Gwen then asked if Jennifer was going to take Jack back, and Gwen wondered if Jennifer wanted to live her life not trusting Jack.
Over at the DiMera mansion, Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) was horrified and upset with Chad DiMera’s (Billy Flynn) affair accusation. Abigail fumed and was really hurt, and she asked Chad whether he thought that she’d risk her marriage and family for a cheap fling.
Abigail broke down and started railing against Chad, and just then Jack walked in and wondered what was going on.
Abigail walked out, and Jack asked Chad what happened. Chad said that he had stupidly accused Abigail of having an affair with Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash). Jack was horrified, and Chad expressed deep regret for what he had done.
Chad lamented that he had kicked Abigail when she was down, and Jack said that he was sure that the two of them could work this out.
Later, Abigail returned to find Chad alone in the living room. Chad immediately apologized and said that he was out of line with his accusation, and he said that Jake looked so much like Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) and it brought back so many memories.
Abigail said that she’d forgive Chad eventually, but that she was angry and hurt now and that Chad should give her space.
Chad took off, and Gwen entered the room, quickly finding out that Chad had accused Abigail of sleeping with Jake. Gwen comforted Abigail and heard all the details, then she hugged Abigail and smiled sinisterly.
In town square, Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) and Henry Horton (Jayna and Kinsley Fox) bumped into Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) in town square. Nicole and Tripp disagreed about whether Henry was his son, and Nicole mentioned Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) being back in town.
Nicole told Tripp that at one time she and Ava were friends, but that what Ava did to Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) was terrible.
Nicole said that she hated what Ava had done, but that a part of her felt like she understood Ava. Nicole told Tripp that if his mother wanted to see her grandson, then she should reach out.
Meanwhile, over at Nicole’s apartment, Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) answered the door to Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). Allie and Rafe were glad to see each other, and Rafe said that he knew about what Tripp did and that Ava was back.
Allie learned that Rafe knew that she pulled a gun on Tripp, but Rafe said that he wasn’t there to arrest her. Rafe learned that Allie took Kate’s gun, and Allie recounted the whole story about what happened when she pulled the gun on Tripp and Ava intervened.
After Rafe left, he ran into Nicole in the hallway and met Henry. Nicole and Rafe talked briefly, and Rafe assured Nicole that he wasn’t going to arrest Allie.
At Julie’s Place, Jack arrived to find Jennifer at work on her laptop at the bar. “Hoping to pick up some more young men?” Jack said. Jennifer didn’t find it funny, and Jack apologized, saying that he was just trying to get through to her.
Jennifer said that she couldn’t talk because she needed to finish up a story. “Ok, but I’m not giving up…ever,” Jack said. Jennifer stared after Jack as he left.
At Steve and Kayla’s place, Kayla returned home from the hospital to find Ava freshly showered and wearing Steve’s shirt. Kayla was astonished and wondered how Ava was alive.
Steve said that Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) was responsible for this. It didn’t take long or Kayla to realize that Joey Johnson (James Lastovic) didn’t kill Ava, and then she turned on Ava and tried to strangle her.
Steve broke up the squabble, and Kayla yelled that they should turn Ava over to the police. Steve said that they couldn’t do that for Joey’s sake. Ava said that Joey tried to kill her, and that she could bring new attempted murder charges, and that it was all up to Kayla.
Ava goaded Kayla, saying that if Kayla made the kidnapping charges against her go away, then she wouldn’t press attempted murder charges against Joey.
Ava left the room for a while, and Kayla was visibly upset, but Steve said that they needed to keep Ava there at their home to watch and contain her. Kayla wasn’t happy, and just then Tripp walked in and Kayla lashed out about Ava being alive and how awful it was.
Ava returned to the room and blasted Kayla for going off on Tripp, then she said that Kayla had a big decision to make.
It wasn’t long before Rafe was pounding on the door, and when he came inside, he promptly started to arrest Ava for Kayla’s kidnapping. “Kayla, isn’t there something you want to say?” Ava called out sweetly. “Yeah, there is,” Kayla said.
