Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for Wednesday, July 8, tease that Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) will refuse to back down. Steve doesn’t want to hang around town and watch Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) live happily ever after with Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth). Instead of stopping the wedding and letting Kayla know how he really feels, Steve suggested he should just leave Salem instead.
Steve intends to take a major case that’d require plenty of legwork all over Europe. It’d also require leaving Salem indefinitely, which is sounding pretty nice to Steve right about now. It won’t be long until Steve says his goodbyes and heads to the airport. Steve will feel like he might as well get started since he’s so settled on this plan.
After Steve bolts, Days spoilers state that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) will be down in the dumps. It was nice for John to have his best friend back in town, but now Steve’s prepared to leave again.
Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) will console John as he frets over how all this played out. John may wish he could’ve said or done something to change Steve’s mind, but this is beyond John’s control.
Meanwhile, Days of Our Lives spoilers say Justin will make a big confession – one that’ll cost him his future with Kayla. Once Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) recited that poem about what might’ve been, it really seemed to affect Justin.
After Will Horton (Chandler Massey) asked for objections and moved to the vow portion of the ceremony, Justin shut Will down and got ready to spill the truth.
Of course, the truth is that Steve still loves Kayla and wants to reunite with her. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Justin will come clean about how much Steve wants Kayla back.
Once Justin admits everything, Jack and Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) will confirm that Justin’s right. Jennifer and Jack been covering for Steve, who was determined to let this wedding happen.
Kayla will seem overwhelmed after Justin’s updates, but she won’t even have to say anything for Justin to know her decision. Justin will give Kayla one lass kiss before letting her go. It’ll be crystal clear to Justin that Kayla’s heart still belongs to Steve, so DOOL spoilers say Kayla will race off to find her ex ASAP.
Afterward, Justin will undoubtedly start thinking about who his heart still belongs to – and that’s Adrienne Kiriakis (Judi Evans). Although Justin grew to love Kayla, it just wasn’t at the same level as his love for Adrienne. Justin will open up to Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) about Kayla’s choice and insist that understands.
Justin may confess that if Adrienne miraculously showed up in Salem again, he’d take her back in a heartbeat. Later, Justin will visit Adrienne’s grave and talk to her about the wedding drama.
By the end of the episode, Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) will appear in the cemetery. Justin will be shocked as he mistakes Bonnie for her lookalike, so stay tuned for some heartbreaking Adrienne confusion.
