Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, October 21, reveal that Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) returned to their place and got a bit to eat in the dark. Lani worried about Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), who was still in custody, and Eli was about to tell Lani the truth about why Kristen confessed when Lani got a call from Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer).
Lani told Eli that three prisoners escaped from Statesville – Orpheus (George DelHoyo), Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay), and Clyde Weston (James Read).
At the DiMera mansion, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) went downstairs to find a flashlight while Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) stayed in their bedroom. Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) arrived shortly thereafter and talked with Abigail about the dinner menu for the party for Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain).
As they talked, Gwen peppered Abigail with questions about Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer’s relationship.
Abigail relayed that Jack and Jennifer had their share of problems over the years, which Gwen found absolutely fascinating. Abigail said that her parents prove that no matter how bad things get, true love can still win out. Gwen thought that was inspiring.
Down in the living room, Rolf told Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) portrait that he looked forward to meeting him again in the flesh. Chad entered the room, and Rolf made his presence known, holding Chad at gunpoint and demanding Stefano’s “essence” back.
As it turned out, Rolf knew that Chad was one of the last people in possession of the microchip containing Stefano’s essence.
But Chad said that he didn’t have the chip anymore, and he flashed back to an earlier time with Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) when he and Tony decided to destroy the chip after the police handed it over to them.
Rolf was horrified to hear this, and he broke down sobbing, then he decided to kill Chad for being an ingrate who never appreciated Stefano. Rolf again held Chad at gunpoint with the intent to kill.
At the Salem Inn, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) was shocked to see Clyde at his door. Ben quickly learned that Orpheus caused the blackout and recruited Clyde to escape with him.
Ben was horrified and he immediately called Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and left her a message warning her. Clyde and Ben talked about Ciara Weston’s (Victoria Konefal) death, and Clyde asked where Ben was going right before Clyde arrived.
Ben skirted the question, but eventually Clyde learned that Ben planned to kill Vincent Bellman (Michael Teh). Clyde offered to kill Vincent himself, and he urged Ben not to go down the revenge road.
Ben said that he needed justice for Ciara, and just then Eli knocked on the door. “Ben, I need to speak with you,” Eli demanded as Ben looked at Clyde warily.
At Marlena and John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) penthouse, Orpheus told Marlena that she should be quiet and let John sleep in the next room. Marlena asked if Orpheus was there to kill her, and Orpheus indicated that he wanted something else from Marlena, but he refused to say what.
Orpheus threatened to kill John if Marlena didn’t go with him, so Marlena reluctantly agreed.
Suddenly, Lani knocked on the door, calling out for Marlena. Orpheus made Marlena open the door and get rid of Lani, which Marlena did. After Lani left, Orpheus led Marlena out into the hallway at gunpoint, and the two left together in the dark.
