Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that the holidays will be in full swing during the week of December 21. The new Days of Our Lives preview promises five full days of family celebrations during the week, so viewers can look forward to continued programming, even on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which is great news.
The promo moves pretty fast, with a focus on Salem’s main families and their holiday celebrations, along with a few big events.
First off, the Horton family will celebrate in traditional style, with the decorating of the Christmas tree. As viewers know, each family member has a special ornament with his or her name on it, so viewers will get to watch this wonderful Christmas tradition play out.
Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) and Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) will host the holiday gathering at the Horton house.
Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) are shown at the Horton gathering, happily drinking champagne alongside Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold).
“This might just be the greatest Christmas ever,” Claire tells Allie. Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) will also be on hand to hang their ornaments on the tree, which the preview shows.
Both the Hortons and the Carvers will have something truly awesome to celebrate as Lani goes into labor over the holidays. “My water just broke,” Lani is heard saying in the promo, and then she’s shown in active labor with Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) right there urging her to push.
It’s going to be a great holiday, as Lani and Eli welcome a little girl and a little boy.
Eli’s mom Valerie Grant (Vanessa Williams) will be on hand for the birth, and the promo shows Valerie and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) happily holding their new grand babies.
One wonders exactly which day the twins will be born – could we be looking at a Christmas Day birth? And will Lani and Eli manage to patch things up between them by the time the babies are born?
Another big event will happen for both the Hortons and the Bradys this Christmas, and that’s that Will Horton (Chandler Massey) will return to Salem for a visit. Will is shown in the weekly preview arriving with little sister Allie at Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) penthouse.
Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) opens the door to see Will there, which looks like it will be a complete surprise. Will is also shown greeting Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) at her apartment, probably as he’s there to see Allie.
Speaking of Marlena, she and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) will host a holiday shindig at the penthouse, where something great will happen – Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) will get down on bended knee and propose to Belle Black (Martha Madison). “Will you marry me…today?” Shawn asks Belle in the promo.
According to Days of Our Lives spoilers, Belle and Shawn will indeed get married right then and there with Marlena officiating. It will be a very welcome and mostly drama-free do-over, until Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) calls right in the middle of the ceremony!
It looks like Belle will urge Marlena to continue the ceremony and ignore Sami’s call.
Then there’s Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), who will be playing the role of Santa at the hospital for the kids. Steve’s shown handing out presents to the happy kids and getting some backup from Joey Johnson (James Lastovic) as he carries out his Santa duties.
Hopefully, Steve and Kayla can muddle through the Christmas holiday, even though there will still be some tension over Allie’s rape allegation against Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams).
Over at the Kiriakis mansion, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) are shown together, even though they’re pretending to be estranged as part of their ruse to find out what Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) is up to.
Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) will join the Kirkakis clan, which will include Philip, Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers), and Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) who will don a cute Santa hat for the festivities.
Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) will also be on hand, and he’ll cause a stir by inviting Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) to the mansion. That will rub Victor and Maggie the wrong way, but it looks like they’ll get over it.
And Brady and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) will enjoy a little fantasy from Statesville as they dream of a truly special Christmas together that will involve an imaginary scenario of what the ideal Christmas would look like at the Kiriakis mansion.
Finally, circling back to the Horton family Christmas, the promo shows a brief glimpse of Ciara Weston (Victoria Konefal) returning as a vision of Ben’s as he puts his and Ciara’s ornaments on the tree.
It will be a fun moment for “Cin” fans, who will once again get to see Ben and Ciara together, if only for an instant!
