Days of Our Lives (DOOL) preview spoilers tease that it’s time for the next Salem wedding of the summer, and that’s exactly what the new DOOL promo for the week of July 6th is all about. We’ve seen Lani Price (Sal Stowers) and Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) get married after a seemingly endless string of interruptions, but it all worked out great in the end. So, what about the next pair to meet at the altar – Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans)?
Well, the promo shows a beautiful scene, with Kayla dressed in a gorgeous dress walking into the Kiriakis living room approaching her husband-to-be, Justin. Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) will be present for the nuptials, and Will Horton (Chandler Massey) will be officiating.
But pretty quickly in the promo, something happens…Will asks if anyone objects to the wedding, and Jack and Jennifer look at each other quizzically. Of course, Jack and Jennifer know the truth – that Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) really wants to be with Kayla.
Steve loves Kayla still, but he thinks that she’ll be happier without him, and so he hasn’t told her how he feels about her. Steve’s planning on letting Kayla marry Justin so that she’ll be happy, because that’s what he thinks she wants. It’s all a real mess.
Next, the promo flashes to a framed photo of Steve and Kayla from their first wedding, and leaves the viewers hanging about what’s going to happen. But DOOL spoilers indicate that it will be Justin who ultimately puts a stop to the wedding and stops Kayla from making a huge mistake that he knows she’ll later regret. I
t seems that Justin will have overheard Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) and Jennifer talking earlier, and he’ll realize Kayla and Steve really want to be together.
From there, DOOL spoilers say that Kayla will rush off to find Steve, and Justin will head to Adrienne Kiriakis’ (Judi Evans) grave, where he’ll promptly run into Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans), who is shown in the promo completely shocking Justin at the gravesite.
Justin will realize soon enough that it’s Bonnie and not Adrienne that he’s standing before, but there will be a moment where he thinks Adrienne has come back.
Meanwhile, Kayla will track Steve down at the airport, where he’s heading out of town. It seems that Steve will have decided to depart Salem, not being able to stick around and watch Kayla being happy with Justin.
The promo doesn’t show any scenes from Kayla and Steve’s airport reunion, but it does feature audio of Kayla saying, “What are you doing here?” and Steve saying, “I love you.”
It seems that viewers will have to tune in to see our first glimpse of the big airport reunion, since DOOL spoilers are clear that Steve and Kayla will indeed get back together. It’s a moment that’s been a long time coming for Days fans!
