Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that some big mysteries still have to unravel. One important question on Days fans’ minds is the upcoming funeral, which has been teased as part of this “Four Weddings and a Funeral” theme for the summer. A funeral follows a death, so who’s dying?
Of course, DOOL viewers are also curious about an upcoming return and some huge exits. Eduardo Hernandez (A Martinez) will return to Days of Our Lives – most likely in August when Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) are set to exit the canvas. Why will Eduardo pop up again? What will take Rafe and Gabi out of Salem?
There’s obviously some Hernandez family chaos looming, so maybe all of this is connected. In a recent Days episode, Gabi offered a potential clue. She was upset with Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel), who was about to let Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) aka Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) walk out of the Salem PD without much of an effort to help him remember.
“Do you want to know what a really good mother does?” Gabi asked angrily. “My mother, when I see her, she tells me, ‘Gabi, do you remember when you did that, or do you remember when you did this?’”
That’s an interesting bit of dialogue since it’s been quite some time since Gabi mentioned her mom, Adrianna Hernandez (Alma Delfina). Could Adrianna be tied to this Hernandez mayhem that’s coming up?
When Adrianna first appeared on Days back in 2016, the news broke that she’d been kidnapped. Due to Eduardo’s assassin history and ties to the Winterthorne Academy, he acknowledged that the kidnapping was his fault.
It’s possible Eduardo’s history will come back to haunt him again in some way – causing his ex-wife and even his kids to be targeted.
However, it’s also possible Adrianna’s been battling an illness and will perhaps die suddenly. Could Eduardo reconnect with Rafe and Gabi before they all head off for Adrianna’s funeral?
JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) got the funeral sendoff treatment when he left for Bill Horton’s offscreen funeral in Africa and never returned. DOOL might take a similar route with this Hernandez family story.
Then again, it’s possible Days will keep Adrianna alive and just have her kids leave to support her. If Adrianna is deathly ill or seriously injured – perhaps due to her old Eduardo connection – Rafe and Gabi would certainly want to be there for their mom.
There’s even a chance we could see a witness protection situation, especially since Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) are leaving, too.
There might be some way to work out new identities that would allow them to still raise Arianna Horton (Sydney Brower) with Gabi elsewhere. Ari could easily land in danger as Eduardo’s granddaughter, so that’s crucial here as well.
