Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that there’s some great news to report thanks to the latest DOOL promo. The show put out a fantastic new preview video, which features brief shots of returns that are coming up this fall. “You never know who’s heading back to Days of Our Lives,” the announcer teases.
There are plenty of familiar faces, but we want to talk about two in particular: Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith). Now we know what you’re thinking.
Wait, what? Will and Sonny haven’t even left yet! The important thing to remember here is that Massey and Smith filmed their final scenes months ago – and they’re obviously not looking so “final” now.
This promo seemingly confirms that Will and Sonny will return this fall, which makes sense considering Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) are headed back to DOOL as well. The news of Rafe and Gabi’s return also broke before their exits, so Days is clearly making changes behind the scenes again.
As for Sonny and Will, here’s what you can expect. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Will and Sonny will depart on September 1. They’ll take one last stroll around the town square and look at the Horton plaque before they bid Salem farewell. There’ll be some heartfelt “WilSon” flashbacks as they remember their love story so far.
After that, Will and Sonny will move to Phoenix for now. Based on this new promo, they’ll return this fall for more drama – though the length of Sonny and Will’s stint isn’t known just yet.
We should point out that Rafe and Gabi’s “final” scenes have already aired, but they’re still in the promo. That means the show’s teasing return stints that haven’t been filmed yet.
Banus and Gering are confirmed to return to the studio after Days resumes production. This preview video apparently confirms the same for Massey and Smith, so that’s certainly exciting. Perhaps with Gabi coming back on the scene, Will and Sonny just won’t be able to keep Arianna Horton (Sydney Brower) away from her mom.
That could lead Sonny and Will to visit Salem or even move back depending on how long Smith and Massey signed on for. Bottom line, Will and Sonny will leave next week before showing back up sometime this fall – and that’s just the news “WilSon” fans wanted to hear!
