Daytime Emmy Awards 2020 Live Recap: Winners, Snubs & Shockers

Tonight Friday, June 26, 2020, on CBS The 47th Daytime Emmy Awards airs. In previous years the Annual Daytime Emmy Awards have been moved around different online streaming programs, however, NATAS announced this year the 2020 Daytime Emmy Award ceremony finally returns to TV with a twist.

We will have all The Young and the Restless, Days of Our Lives, The Bold and the Beautiful, and General Hospital winners, snubs and shockers.

The women of the talk will be presenting the awards this year in a two-hour event and the awards will be awarded virtually. The Daytime Emmy® Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in daytime television programming since 1974.

Sheryl Underwood, Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Marie Osmond and Sharon Osborne, are all hosting the 2020 Daytime Emmy Awards from their individual homes.

Here are your nominees & winners:

Outstanding performance by a supporting actress in a drama series; Tamara Braun for General Hospital, Rebecca Budig for General Hospital, Susan Seaforth Hayes for Days of our Lives, Christel Khalil for The Young and the Restless, Anika Noelle for The Bold and the Beautiful.

And the Emmy goes to Tamara Braun from General Hospital. Tamara, “I would like to thank the kind ones at General Hospital and with everything going on in the world I would like to dedicate my award to those who have suffered in the hands of racial inequality and those who have a continue to fight for justice. With peace love, happiness, and much gratitude.”

Melody Thomas Scott announces the nominees for Outstanding Performance by a supporting actor in a drama series: Mark Grossman for The Young and the Restless, Bryton James for The Young and the Restless, Wally Kurth for Days of our Lives, Chandler Massey for Days of our Lives, James Patrick Stewart for General Hospital, Paul Telfer for Days of our Lives.

And the Emmy goes to Bryton James for The Young and the Restless. Bryton, “Wow, what an incredible honor. I want to start by thanking my mom and dad for everything in my life, and every single person that voted, CBS, Sony television, and the entire Bell family, my entire Young and the Restless family. Britney, I love you and I want to dedicate this to the legend Kristoff St. John. To everyone watching right now, the world is fighting against racial injustice and it is our responsibility as the human race to educate ourselves and take action because until we all can acknowledge and emphasize the problem, it will always be a problem. Thank you.”

Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series: Sasha Calle for The Young and the Restless, Olivia Rose Keegan for Days of Our Lives, Katelyn MacMullen for General Hospital, Eden McCoy for General Hospital, Thia Megia for Days of our Lives.

And the Emmy goes to Olivia Rose Keegan for Days of our Lives. Olivia, “I want an Emmy and that is just insane and I have a whole lot of people that I owe that to. Thank you Days of our Lives with such important material, I think that mental health is such a crucial and under-addressed topic in this world. So, if Claire’s story can help anybody feel less alone or hopeful, then I have done my job as a human and as an actress.”

Eric Braedan watches a clip of Aretha Franklin saying that she loves him on The Young and the Restless. Eric, “All those years of learning those lines, those pages of dialog were worth it. If Aretha Franklin, the queen of soul, the civil rights icon, watches our show, then I can learn lines and do the best I can. I was deeply moved by this. In today’s times with the Black Lives Matter movement, she would be right in the middle of it. Bless her soul.”

Carrie Ann Inaba announces the nominees for Outstanding Directing Team for a Drama Series: The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless.
