Four Months Earlier…
Margaret is in her room praying when Eugene Monreaux (Gerald McRaney) walks in and presents her with an emerald ring and they kiss. Her daughter walks in with a veil, saying every superhero needs a cape. Meanwhile, Reverend Paul Luke Thomas (Aaron Lazar) is performing on the show “The Word” as Norah Ellington (Deneen Tyler) is listening from the sound room. Eric Monreaux (Corey Cott) is told by Franklin Lee (Steve Harris) to “Stick to the lines this time”! Eric’s family gathers as their parents discuss 25 years, Margaret joking about the Rev trying to upstage her on today of all days and tells her daughter, Rose Monreaux (Aubrey Dollar) that they should get going as the Rev welcomes them onto the stage for the 25th anniversary of the Sunshine Network.
Margaret Monreaux emerges from the ceiling with angel wings behind her and the crowd erupts. She is busy thanking the crowd as Ginger Sweet (Melia Kreiling) is at SinWagon Studios, which is obviously a adult channel site. She cuts off a declined customer and informed to check on her mom who is watching “that TV show again”. She calls her mother, Tina Sweet (Rachel York) obsessed and turns off the TV. She is watching the Monreaux family eating a chicken dinner and talking to their audience; when it is Eric’s turn he immediately goes off-script discussing pornography and how it is everywhere, including “butt butter!” His father glares as him as Margaret tries to salvage the episode of “Wings of a Dove.” She introduces SunnyClub to the audience, a website where fans can support them.
The family is celebrating the launch of the website as Eric apologizes to his mother. Eugene reminds him that he needs to be more subtle as the Rev reminds them true integrity is being the same in private as you are in public. Margaret jokes they attract bees with honey, not butt butter. Eugene wants to help set up their daughter for a clothing line but Margaret feels it is not wise to give them things just because they ask for it. Eugene and Margaret dance for a few minutes but he stops, saying they will have some time together when he gets back from DC.
Eugene is on his private jet with several undressed young women where they are obviously having a party. Suddenly the engine catches fire. Eugene’s memorial service is held after weeks of them begin unable to recover his body from the crash site. His death is huge on the news and vigils are held everywhere; his wife begins harassed by media, asking if she knew any of the other women on the plane? In the meantime, in Las Vegas, Tina gets served court documents, informing Rachel (Aqueela Zoll) that she has to leave for a few days and she is left in charge of SinWagon.
Margaret demands how long they can keep Eugene’s will from her and she is told they want her back on the air first. She feels she would continue to be living a lie, insisting she never knew about his other lifestyle. She knew about one night stands but never dreamed that he had several children. She is furious as she reads the papers.
In Queens, New York a gentleman comes into a fight club looking for Antonio Rivera (Benjamin Levy Aguilar). He looks at the papers and wants to know who the hell Eugene Monreaux is. In Edgewater, Colorado Jason Conley (Mark L. Young) is inside his grow op trailer, when there is a knock at the door; he is served with papers. He offers her a beer and she accepts.
Margaret is smoking a cigarette as her children arrive with the lawyer. She informs them that their father was a good man, but not a faithful man. He had 3 children outside of their marriage with 3 different women. They learn the majority of the shares are going to Margaret, but the remainder are being split between the 5 children, something Eric and Rose feel is unfair. Margaret says she didn’t know about the kids but Eugene did slip up about the whore in Vegas, she was so furious they slept in separate bedrooms for 6 months. Margaret doesn’t want the Rev nor his wife, Becky know about the other kids. Eric says he isn’t his dad but Margaret says if they find out it is over for them. Rose wants to know who these people are.
A reporter notices the three strangers coming into the building. Jason attempts to vape in the elevator and Antonio orders him not to do it in front of his kid. Ginger immediately puts it together and introduces herself as their sister; Franklin meets them at the elevator door. Margaret tries to play nice, but Eric says he is the senior VP and there is no way he is giving any piece of his family’s company to a hooker, a hoodlum, and a drug dealer.
Margaret and Rose issue out cake and drinks as she says they are prepared to make an offer of a million dollars each. Ginger informs them that she knew this entire time that Eugene was her father and kept the secret so she is not walking away with only a million bucks as they are worth over 2 billion. She wants to talk it over with her new brothers, something Margaret encourages her to do that demanding them to spit for DNA samples and telling them to leave.
Rose thinks they should maybe have some sort of relationship with them, but before they can discuss it any further the Rev walks in, wanting to know how it went; Eric revealing that he obviously told his wife. Rev us concerned about the network as Franklin tells him it is none of his concern. Rev tells Margaret she needs to get back on air as people only watch for her and him and without her, he is suffering. He wants them to make Eric the CEO and the Rev with supervising while Margaret goes back to recipes and advice, something she does best. Eric leaves with Rev for lunch as Margaret stews.
Luke Taylor (Cranson Johnson) introduces himself to Ginger at the hotel, inquiring what business she had at Monreaux Ltd. He is ordered to leave but not before he gives her his card. Antonio talks to Ginger, saying he is good with the money as he had no idea about Eugene. She reminds him that this is the first time in his life that he has real power. She wants him to fight as he says people like them never come on top. Margaret learns the DNA tests are positive but Jason’s was contaminated. Franklin tells Margaret he is proud of her as she steps up onto the stage talking about losing Eugene and how she misses him.
Jason goes to the hospital and slips some drugs under a patient’s mask as Antonio and Ginger watch Margaret on the show. She reminds everyone that they all have to stay close to their families and keep them safe. Always together, makes a family forever, is something Eugene always said. Margaret says the family is the most valuable thing in the whole world as they all hold hands-on stage. Ginger leans in and tells Antonio that is why they are not walking away for only a million bucks!
Margaret is horseback riding with Franklin, who says he loves her but he has a lot to lose if the company goes belly up. She knows while he suggests that she views things from Ginger’s side. She reminds him that the only time a Monreaux girl is helpless is when their nails are drying. She says if Ginger wants a proper seat at the table, they should give her one as a proper luncheon would be a great benefit to her. Ginger emerges from the top of the stairs wearing the SinWagon’s little bo peep’s costume. Margaret says she should feel stupid right now as she doesn’t; Rose just giggles behind her.
Rose and Ginger bond at the table, complimenting each other on their outfits. Rose talks about how she wants to develop a clothing line but can’t get any traction on it. Margaret stomps away from the table to give her speech, but she stops herself, saying Ginger Sweet is going to do the speech instead. She wants her to start by telling the young girls what she does for a living as she is so proud of what she does. Ginger looks at the little girls and remains mum. Rose feels bad for her as Margaret excuses her, offering her 2 million as she only represents 10 minutes of her husband’s pleasure.
Eric is having breakfast with Margaret, finding out that she feels he is not ready to take his father’s place in the company. She tells him that he is like polish. He gets upset, saying his daddy told the Rev that he wanted Eric to take over and wants to know why she is denying this. He asks if his father has a say in this or has she already forgotten him? He storms out when Franklin arrives. They both feel they have to move their hotel guests as people are beginning to talk; Margaret wants things to settle down, but it is time to replace Eugene; claiming it is for the sake of the family.
Franklin holds a news conference. He informs everyone that the company will remain in the family and the new CEO, effective immediately is Margaret Monreaux. Becky calls her a bitch. Jason and Antonio are impressed with the 2 million Ginger were offered, but she surprises them when she says she is not taking it; a knock at the door informs them all they are invited to stay at the family hunting cabin. Jason and Antonio want to take the money but Ginger feels she is worth more.

During dinner, Margaret offers them all 1% of the company as that is what Eugene wanted to give them but she wants them to sign NDAs, to protect the company and their interest in it. Ginger reveals that is 6 million. Jason wants to take it, but Ginger starts speaking Biblically about how right 5% is, which is 30 million. She impressed Margaret with how much she really knows about the bible but she turns quickly when Rose agrees that 5% would work for her to blow this joint and open her own fashion house.
Rose calls Ginger a “goddess”, wishing she was more like her. Ginger says they are more similar then they know. She sees that she was a girl who spent her whole life trying to make sure her mom was okay; never thinking about herself. Rose wants to know about Ginger’s mom, but she just wants to hear how awesome she is instead.
Franklin comes to see Ginger, saying her father couldn’t help but see a bit of himself in her. He hated her business but he appreciated her. He wrote her a letter, which she immediately reads. He admits of how proud he is of her, thinking of her every day because she isn’t afraid of who she is. He confessed he has always loved her and wished he was the father she deserved. She holds it tightly to her heart.

She runs out to the stage, demanding a word with Rev, who threatens that if she doesn’t put Eric in charge, the world will hear the truth. Eric listens as he continues to threaten her. He returns to the stage to perform his sermon. Margaret stage at the side of the stage as Eric and Becky leave the stage as well.

Margaret walks in as Ginger confronts her on faking the letter; it was written by a right-handed person and Eugene was a lefty like her.
She can’t understand what kind of person Margaret is. Margaret has no words as Ginger says she doesn’t want their money, no her disgusting family and maybe someday she will be as good as she thinks she is and just so she knows, Eugene spent more than 10 minutes with her mother as they were together for a year.
Ginger packs her bags as Antonio tells her he and Jason are taking the deal. She encourages him to take it when they still have it. He begs her not to mess it up for him but she calls the journalist. Margaret prays for a way as Lil Jesus walks in. Antonio thanks her for changing his little boy’s life and Jesus’ mother isn’t really in his life. He reveals Ginger is speaking to the press.
Luke is walking through the lobby with Ginger, revealing they have a problem. She walks into the press conference and it is Margaret revealing that Eric is the new CEO as she sobs about losing her husband. She reveals Eugene had 3 other children but they had no idea. She talks all about the forgiveness they have for Eugene and with the Lord’s guidance, they welcome them.
