General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) homecoming is likely in the works. There were tons of hints about Dante’s return before GH aired their last new episode. There’s also some strong buzz about Dante’s comeback once General Hospital resumes production.
Even Dominic Zamprogna himself has been vocal about his desire to return to the show. Since everything points to Dante getting back in the mix, we should think about what his storyline might look like.
Naturally, Dante and Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) were a great couple to root for, so a huge part of Dante’s comeback would be finding his way back to Lulu.
Unfortunately, that could be easier said that done! A reunion between Dante and Lulu wouldn’t happen overnight, but there are some simple steps GH could take to get us there eventually. Here are five things that have to happen for Lulu and Dante to get back together.
1) Dante returns and is no longer a threat
Obviously, putting Dante in Port Charles again is the very first step, but he’ll need to be free from the dangerous programming that terrified him before. Dante worried he was a serious threat to the people he loves, so he’ll hopefully be normal for the most part upon his return.
Although Dante will still have some personal issues to work on, he should at least be safe to be around.
2) Inevitable rejection
Whether Dante pushes Lulu away or Lulu pulls back from Dante, there’s bound to be some level of rejection here. It may even be on both sides. It’s easy to imagine Lulu insisting she’s moved on with Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) and Dante acting like it’s for the best.
Lulu and Dante may try to convince themselves they’re both on different paths now, but it’d just be a typical soap reunion hurdle.
3) Mutual pining
When it comes to putting a couple back together, a little mutual pining is a must. That’s some of the absolute best soap angst. Lulu and Dante will likely long to be with each other for quite some time. There’s no way General Hospital would make a “Lante” reunion easy, but they could certainly make it worth it!
4) Lulu and Dustin’s breakup
Of course, Lulu and Dustin’s breakup is perhaps the most crucial step back to “Lante.” Dustin is a nice guy, but he’s just not the man Lulu’s meant to be with. In time, all parties involved should understand that. Whether cheating’s involved or just a painful realization, Dustin and Lulu are destined to split sooner or later.
5) Dante and Lulu heal as a couple
That brings us to the final step in the Dante and Lulu reunion process. General Hospital writers have to help them heal as a couple. GH fans could watch as Lulu and Dante finally overcome all their struggles. It’s as much about finding a new beginning as it is finding their way back!
