General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Alex Devane-Marick (Finola Hughes) clearly can’t be trusted. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) realizes she’s being baited, but she also feels like she has to take that bait. Alex knows about Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) pregnancy and is obviously plotting more than she’s letting on.
Alex insisted she wanted to stop running and come home so she could focus on her family. She begged Anna to meet her in Berlin and help her. Of course, GH fans know “help” can mean something very different to Alex! Is Alex planning another switcheroo? Alex has taken Anna’s place before and could certainly do it again.
On September 4, General Hospital spoilers say Anna will seek Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) assistance. Valentin will get updates on Anna’s phone conversation with Alex – and he’ll learn Anna wants him to come along on her mission as backup. However, there’s no guarantee Valentin will get on board with that plan.
Even if Valentin goes end up going with Anna, all it takes is one moment alone for a swap to go down. Alex tends to do a pretty good job of pretending to be her twin, so she can usually get by with it for quite a while. Alex’s comments to Anna may be a clue about what she really wants.
By taking Anna’s place in Port Charles, it would indeed allow Alex to stop running. Alex would be able to come home and be in Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) life – which is important since Peter is likely Alex’s biological son. Naturally, it’d just be a matter of time before Alex’s true identity was discovered.
If an Alex-Anna swap goes down, it could be the catalyst for revealing the truth to Peter – that he’s actually Alex’s son.
There’s no confirmation that Alex is Peter’s mother, but it’s been heavily hinted that Anna might’ve been memory-mapped into believing Peter was hers. It makes more sense for Peter to be Alex’s spawn with Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) anyway.
