General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) has a big problem in the form of Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers). As GH viewers know, Robert just doesn’t trust Peter at all, and he’s fairly sure that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) isn’t the person who arranged for Drew Cain’s (Billy Miller) disappearance and for the near killings of Andre Maddox (Anthony Washington) and Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) in the OR. But Robert can’t prove that Peter’s the culprit, and besides, now Robert is distracted by the supposed death of Holly Sutton (Emma Samms).
The good news for Peter here is that Robert probably won’t be uncovering evidence of his crimes anytime soon, since (a) Peter knows how to cover his tracks pretty well, and (b) Robert is going to be busy out looking for Holly. So, unless Holly’s disappearance is somehow related to Peter, which it doesn’t seem to be, Peter will have a reprieve from Robert for a while.
But now that it looks like Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is pregnant with Peter’s baby, a whole new world of conflict could arise. Right now, everything seems too neat and tightly wrapped up, with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) fully believing in Peter’s innocence, Anna and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) all happy together, and Maxie being pregnant.
We suspect that there might be a huge wrinkle coming with Maxie’s pregnancy, and with Anna and Finn’s happiness.
After all, Anna may be temporarily blinded by her love for Peter, but she’s not naïve. If something happens to rekindle Anna’s interest in Peter’s possible wrongdoing with respect to the OR shooting, then she probably won’t be able to let it go.
And If Anna does dig a little deeper, she could probably pretty easily uncover Peter’s connection to the OR gunman, whom Peter hired and then shot in cold blood to cover his tracks.
What if Anna were to put it all together and realize that Peter was behind the OR gunman and his murder?
Anna would then quite possibly be faced with a situation in which Peter and Maxie are happily expecting a baby, and Anna knows things that could utterly destroy that baby’s future as well as Maxie’s happiness. And if Maxie were to, say, end up with a high-risk pregnancy, then telling her about Peter’s murderous streak could even be harmful to the pregnancy.
Could we be looking at a situation in which Maxie’s pregnancy is high-risk and she needs to remain calm and stress-free throughout her pregnancy? Those kinds of situations frequently come up on soaps, generally when information must be kept from the pregnant character.
We could end up seeing Anna really wrestle with whether she should disclose what she’s uncovered about Peter to Maxie.
Of course, if that were to happen, then Anna would probably feel compelled to keep the information from Finn as well, since if Finn found out about all of this, he’d want to whisk Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) out of Anna’s house again to protect her from the likes of Peter.
It would be a bad scene if Finn were to find out about Anna’s decision to hide the fact that her son is a murderer from himself and Maxie.
We’ll see what happens here, but some high-risk pregnancy drama is one way that this storyline could go. It would certainly be a moral conflict for Anna, as she weighs the pros and cons of disclosing what she knows.
