General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will continue pushing Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) on the issue of inviting his father to their upcoming nuptials.
As GH viewers know, Finn would much rather avoid the whole topic of his father, and he’s politely told Anna that he doesn’t want his dad, Gregory Chase (James Read), anywhere near their wedding, because it would make the day weird and uncomfortable for him, especially since he’d necessarily need to invite his stepmother.
Well, as GH viewers are aware, Anna was just pressing Finn about why he doesn’t want his father present at the wedding, and she made a big case for Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) getting to know her grandfather.
Finn didn’t really seem to appreciate all the pushiness, but he was nice to Anna about the whole thing. Well, a new sneak peek for Monday, August 17, shows Finn continuing to fend off Anna’s pleas to get the go-ahead to invite Gregory to the wedding.
“I would like Violet to have a relationship with her grandfather…someday,” Finn concedes in the sneak peek video. But Anna continues to push, saying, “Couldn’t someday be our wedding?”
Well, something tells us that Finn isn’t going to budge about his dad staying far away from the wedding. Finn seems REALLY determined to make his wedding day to Anna special, and he doesn’t want it to be marred by having his dad and stepmom there.
One wonders if Anna is going to be able to respect Finn’s wishes on this. It’s seemed for a while now that Anna and Finn’s relationship is probably doomed, but it appeared that it was going to be the issue of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) that would tear them apart.
Anna vehemently defended Peter when it looked like Peter had committed some serious crimes (which he did). But then Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) got framed for Peter’s misdeeds, and that issue between Finn and Anna seemed to be settled.
But what if what ultimately breaks up Finn and Anna isn’t Peter at all? Maybe Anna will totally undercut Finn’s wishes and decide to secretly invite Gregory and his wife to the wedding.
That could really enrage Finn, and knowing Finn, we could see him actually refuse to go through with the wedding over Anna’s actions – especially if Anna tries to force an interaction between Violet and Gregory, and Finn happens to stumble upon it.
Finn is very protective of Violet, and he’s probably not going to want Anna to just up and decide what’s best for Violet…which seems to be the path that Anna is on.
Of course, Anna has a close relationship with her kids and grandkids, and she just can’t see why Finn wouldn’t want the same. If Anna goes ahead and gets Gregory on the scene and Finn feels out of control over what goes on with his own daughter, then that’s not going to be a good scene.
Of course, how Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) fits into all this will be interesting, too, considering that the people whom Finn doesn’t want around Violet right now are Chase’s parents.
Anna could start a real family situation if she ends up arranging a surprise visit from Gregory and his wife and Finn explodes. It could be a mess and even cause Finn to put a halt to the wedding if he’s mad enough at Anna.
We’ll see what happens here, but it certainly seems like a big situation could be on the horizon here. Do you think that Anna will secretly invite Gregory to her and Finn’s wedding?
