General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Briana Lane) has a tough road ahead of her. Fortunately, she survived Nelle Benson Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) vicious scissor attack, but her injuries are going to take a considerable amount of time to heal, and this wasn’t just any injury.
Brook Lynn suffered damage to her vocal chords, and that’s a big deal. It couldn’t have been a more inopportune injury for Brook Lynn as an aspiring singer and musician.
As GH viewers know, Brook Lynn was right on track to make her big debut at the Nurses’ Ball when Nelle struck. And since Brook Lynn was finally able to get out of her restrictive contract with the sleazy Linc Brown (Dan Buran), it looked like her career was about to really take off.
Brook Lynn had a deal to be the voice of Deception, and now that’s all going to be on hold until she recuperates.
Well, chances are, Brook Lynn will eventually recover her voice, although that process could be stalled a bit since she did go against the doctors’ orders and spoke to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to tell him about the tracker that Nelle put in Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) stuffed kangaroo.
We’ll see how much damage that did in the long run, but it could factor into to Brook Lynn’s overall recovery time.
Perhaps we’ll see a nice recovery story for Brook Lynn – she’s probably going to need lots of medical care for her vocal chords, as well as vocal therapy in order to reclaim the proper use of her voice.
And that all might be necessary for her simply to speak, let along sing. One wonders exactly who will be on Brook Lynn’s side to help her get her singing voice back.
Of course, one obvious person who may be front and center in Brook Lynn’s journey to reclaim her voice could be her dad, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth). But it’s pretty likely that Brook Lynn could struggle with some hard feelings toward Ned after how Ned basically disowned her and threw her out of the Quartermaine mansion.
Sure, that was before Brook Lynn’s attack, and now Ned is very contrite, but this may be a journey that Brook Lynn wants to take independently of her dad.
Another person who may step up for Brook Lynn is Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson). Now, Dustin was pretty clear with Brook Lynn that he didn’t think of her romantically anymore.
GH viewers will remember that Brook Lynn impulsively kissed Dustin at the Nurses’ Ball before her attack. It was a disaster, and Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) walked in, prompting Dustin to lash out at Brook Lynn.
But still, there seems to be some sort of a spark between Brook Lynn and Dustin, and that spark could grow once Dante Falconeri (Dominick Zamprogna) returns to Port Charles and Lulu gets caught up in the drama of that.
Lulu will be busy dealing with the ripple effect of Dante’s return on her family and Rocco Falconeri’s (O’Neill Monahan) life, and that could leave Dustin needing someplace to put his energy. Perhaps Dustin will help Brook Lynn regain her voice.
We’ll see what happens here, but GH fans will surely be rooting for Brook Lynn to reclaim her voice and recover fully from what Nelle did to her. The good news here is that Brook Lynn really has a fighting spirit, and there’s a good chance that viewers will get to see her ultimately sing again!
