General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) has already made some big mistakes and even more are coming up. Carly’s first mistake was chasing after Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) – and her second one was lying to the cops about what really happened. As Carly herself pointed out, cover-ups never end well.
Now there’s another layer of secrecy since Carly knows Nelle is Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) biological daughter. Carly’s making another mistake by keeping one more secret with Jasper “Jax” Jasper (Ingo Rademacher), but her biggest mistake may be holding on to that necklace!
If Carly were smart, she’d dump that thing as fast as possible. Carly could just apologize to Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) for “losing” her good luck charm and buy the kid an even better necklace of her choosing.
By ditching the half-heart pendant, Carly would be ditching any evidence that Nelle was Nina’s child.
However, General Hospital writers have put way too much time and energy into this whole necklace angle. It’s tough to believe Nina will find out Nelle is her daughter any other way. Carly may keep that necklace for inexplicable reasons just for the sake of the story.
GH fans are all still waiting on the moment when Nina finds the missing heart half and realizes it belonged to her long-lost daughter. Of course, this could take some creativity on the writers’ part since Carly isn’t going to just whip it out and show Nina.
Perhaps this will be a case where secrets and misunderstandings lead to disaster.
There was really no need for Carly to lie to Sonny, but she did anyway. Carly claimed she had Avery’s necklace because she wanted to get the clasp fixed, which Sonny bought no problem.
Carly could get tripped up if Sonny stumbles across that necklace later, looks at the perfectly fine clasp and assumes it was fixed. If Avery starts asking for her lucky charm again, Sonny wouldn’t know he should keep it from her.
There could be even bigger trouble if Avery and Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) wind up crossing paths. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) is taking steps to make sure Nina has legal rights to Charlotte and can be there for her if something happens to him.
Maybe it’s not a coincidence that Charlotte is being brought back into Nina’s story.
Charlotte knows the other half of that necklace belongs to Nina’s daughter, so it’s easy to see the potential for drama here. Charlotte could unleash quite a shocker if she hangs out with Avery one day and notices that good luck charm of hers.
Bottom line, Carly could easily lose control of the secret by losing control of the necklace! She surely won’t give the half-heart pendant back to Avery, but that doesn’t mean Sonny won’t do it for her. We’ll offer updates as other GH news comes in.
