General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Claudette Beaulieu (Bree Williamson) should reenter the picture. GH did plenty of namedropping and offered reminders of the complicated surrogacy story surrounding Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez).
Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) later urged Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) to track Claudette down – and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) intends to help with Curtis’ mission.
It would be a huge letdown if Claudette wasn’t found after all these hints, so it’s probably safe to assume she’ll indeed be back. With that in mind, Claudette’s bound to help one of Charlotte’s parents and absolutely devastate the other one.
The story definitely seems set up for a parentage twist, but does that twist involve Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) or Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan)?
Of course, there’s the potential for major drama either way. If it turned out Lulu wasn’t Charlotte’s mom, it could break their bond forever. Charlotte has grown to love Lulu, but she doesn’t adore her quite like she adores her papa.
It’s easy to imagine Charlotte drifting from Lulu and not really having a relationship with her if Lulu isn’t her mother. Charlotte would be even more drawn to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), who could fill that role.
Valentin might shut Lulu out completely and manage to get a family reunion going with Nina and Charlotte. In other words, Jax’s efforts to help Lulu could backfire big time.
However, we’d say it’s more likely that Valentin isn’t Charlotte’s father based on the clues GH has offered. General Hospital has played up significant moments with emphasis on Valentin being the luckiest father in the world.
Valentin probably hasn’t experienced enough of a downfall yet, so this could be what really breaks him. Would Lulu still let Charlotte have a relationship with Valentin?
Charlotte would obviously struggle to cut ties with the papa she loves so much, even if there are no blood ties. Lulu might struggle to keep them apart. This could easily bring an opportunity for Charlotte to act out.
That angle could reunite Valentin and Nina as well. They’d both be worried about Charlotte, and Nina could be tempted to comfort Valentin over losing what he loves most. Whatever the case, General Hospital spoilers say we’ll get a step closer to answers eventually.
