General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) may be glad he made a friendly connection with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). GH fans know Franco recently made an effort to include Cyrus in karaoke night at The Floating Rib.
Franco wondered how Cyrus’ singing voice was and even asked if Cyrus wanted to be the Simon to his Garfunkel!
Cyrus seemed taken aback over someone actually being nice to him and wanting him there. After Cyrus picked up a round of drinks later, Franco continued to treat Cyrus like a pal.
Cyrus nearly took the stage to sing since Franco was so enthusiastic. It was honestly kind of adorable to watch – like a movie where the class clown takes the school bully under his wing and they become strange BFFs.
Of course, all of this went down right before Franco collapsed and had to be rushed to GH. Now Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) has informed Franco that there’s a malignant growth on his frontal lobe, so the tumor appears to have occurred in the same area.
Terry admitted it seems to be inoperable, but she was quick to add that this is just the first step in a long, complicated process. She was just sharing the preliminary findings, so Franco still has to have a biopsy done along with other necessary scans and steps.
It seems like Franco and plenty of fans are already planning his funeral, but not so fast! Although there’s always a chance Franco could be killed off due to cast cuts, General Hospital spoilers don’t line up with that idea.
In fact, all the preview info makes it sound like there’s nothing Franco and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) can’t conquer.
Besides, would GH really do a repeat brain tumor death story so soon after Oscar Nero Quartermaine’s (Garren Stitt) last year? Why bother doing the same sad story now?
We also know Franco’s health crisis will lead to a mystery unraveling, so this doesn’t feel like a farewell to Franco storyline at this point.
Franco has decided to keep his brain tumor a secret from Liz for now, but he’ll have to fill her in eventually. Once Franco offers updates, Elizabeth will stand with him as they face this challenge together.
However, it’s obvious Franco is going to need some sort of medical help here. Could that be why GH writers established Franco getting chummy with Cyrus? Will the way Franco tried to butter Cyrus up be important?
Franco befriended Cyrus when no one else would, so maybe Cyrus could repay that kindness. Cyrus is in the drug business, so he surely knows people who have the best and newest drugs money can buy – even experimental treatments that no one’s ever heard of.
Cyrus also has new connections through the hospital, so perhaps Cyrus can provide the miracle cure Franco needs.
