General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) latest move against Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) crossed a major line. Since Carly needed leverage against Cyrus, she made sure his mom, Florence Grey (Annie Abbott), was kidnapped from the Mountain Landing Long-Term Care Facility in Vermont.
It’s tough to believe Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) would’ve made that same decision, but Carly seems to think she’s running the show now! Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) won’t be pleased when Carly offers the full updates on Monday, January 4.
Carly thinks she shut down any chance of escalation, but Jason’s bound to think she did just the opposite. If there was ever a way to make this war worse, it’s kidnapping Cyrus’ mother.
Carly will undoubtedly argue that Cyrus wouldn’t dare fight back and risk putting Florence in harm’s way, but she may be wrong about that.
After all, a solid counterattack could level the playing field. Carly went too far by having Florence kidnapped – a vulnerable elderly woman who means the world to Cyrus in spite of her issues with him.
If Cyrus were going to retaliate with a kidnapping plot of his own, who would he take? We can think of an equally vulnerable little boy who means the world to Carly. Of course, we’re talking about Carly’s grandson, Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson).
A kid is pretty easy to snatch – and a child Wiley’s age is easier to temporarily take care of than a younger one like Donna Corinthos (Ella and Emma Hulen).
Not to mention a Wiley snatching would drag so many characters into the story, including Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen).
This would be the ultimate way for GH writers to pull Willow and Michael closer. It could really seal deal on the “Millow” marriage and make the Quartermaine clan invested in the outcome well.
Perhaps Cyrus could have Wiley kidnapped and try to force an exchange: defenseless old Florence for defenseless young Wiley. A trade like that might be the only way Cyrus can ensure that his mother won’t be hurt – at least from his perspective.
Cyrus might be driven to this desperate plan if he can’t get Florence back through any other strategy.
Plus, General Hospital spoilers say Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will land in the Corinthos clan’s orbit more in the new year.
That could put Valentin in the prime position to help Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) grandson if the Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) bio daughter reveal happens during all this.
Bottom line, Carly crossed a personal line, so we have every reason to think Cyrus might cross one right back. It makes sense for Cyrus to target a family member of Carly’s in retaliation, so Wiley might be in the most danger! We’ll provide more details as other GH news comes in.
