General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will find someone to lean on as she gets over her breakup with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). GH preview info for 2021 pointed to Sam developing a friendship with someone she’d known for a long time.
Based on the latest General Hospital spoilers, it looks like that someone will be Dante Falconceri (Dominic Zamprogna).
This is interesting since many fans have been rooting for a Dante and Sam romance. A fantasy episode paired these two up back in 2018, so support for the pairing gained traction.
Now that Sam has split from Jason, she’s going to need another love interest eventually. Likewise, Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) isn’t coming out of her coma anytime soon – and that means Dante might move on, too.
Of course, there’s no guarantee Sam and Dante’s bonding will turn into anything more than friendship. It’s just that when two lonely, single people bond on a soap, there’s always the possibility they’ll become more than pals!
Whatever the case, General Hospital spoilers say Dante and Sam will indeed connect on January 8. This should be the start of Sam and Dante getting support from each other as they both try to get through a rough time.
Dante’s been struggling due to his programming and this desire to “complete the mission.” He’s been having some problems when it comes to reconnecting with Rocco Falconeri (O’Neill Monahan) as well, but Sam may respect Dante for putting his family first and taking that time away to keep them safe.
Naturally, we have to acknowledge that Dante’s pretty dangerous right now – even if Sam doesn’t realize it. Dante could end up trying to kill Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and hurt innocent people in the process if he’s not careful.
We also have to remember that Dante is Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) son, so Dante could be targeted just as much as Jason – at least if Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) or another enemy chooses to do so. In other words, Dante isn’t really the greatest alternative love interest.
However, Dante will eventually move past all the Peter drama and may be able to keep himself out of the line of fire when it comes to Sonny’s rivals. The truth is General Hospital seemingly just wanted to break Jason and Sam up. They needed an excuse, so that’s where this sudden push for safety came from.
It doesn’t really matter if Dante makes sense as an alternative. The point was most likely just to end “JaSam” and put Sam with someone else – and Dante is indeed someone else!
