General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) may be in for a brutal rejection when he returns home. Dante’s name has been thrown around constantly over the last few weeks, and there has to be a reason for that. General Hospital wouldn’t be bringing Dante up like crazy if they didn’t have plans for his comeback.
When you throw in the fact that Zamprogna’s willing to return on contract, Dante’s homecoming is inevitable. It seems likely it was already in the works before production was suspended due to the COVID-19 aka coronavirus crisis. Regardless, a recovered Dante will probably resurface own the road.
Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) is with Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) now, which Dante would almost certainly understand. Dante wasn’t sure he’d ever be well again, so he pushed for this divorce and encouraged Lulu to move on.
Now that Lulu’s done what Dante wanted, he may not come home looking for a reunion. Dante may feel he’s damaged goods anyway.
There’s a good chance Dante would even be wary of reconnecting with Rocco Falconeri (O’Neill Monahan). That’s where Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) perspective could come in handy.
Now that Sonny’s facing the loss of his own father, Mike Corbin (Max Gail), he’s realizing how important it is to savor whatever time you can with the people you love.
Sonny tried to make up for lost time with Mike in recent years, so he may urge Dante to do the same. It’s easy to imagine Sonny giving Dante a pep talk about fatherhood and a dad’s love for his kids.
Mike wasn’t the perfect father, but that didn’t matter in the end. Sonny may convince Dante to reach out to Rocco and rebuild their bond or else he’ll regret it one day.
Unfortunately, Rocco has dealt with some abandonment issues thanks to Dante’s absence. It’s not Dante’s fault that he had to focus on getting better, but this has still been a challenging time for Rocco. Once Dante’s deprogrammed and back in Port Charles, he’ll have a chance to reconnect with his son.
Will Rocco be eager to see Dante or reject him instead? Things are getting tricky now that Rocco’s bonding with Dustin as his father figure. Rocco invited Dustin for a special take-your-dad-to-school day, so Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) was quite upset about that.
Olivia didn’t like the idea of Dustin replacing Dante, although that’s certainly not what Dustin was trying to do.
Dustin simply wants to be there for a kid who misses his dad. Rocco loves Dante, but he may worry Dante’s just going to leave again if he opens his heart and reconnects with him.
That could leave Rocco standoffish if Dante tries to get their bond back on track. Dante might face a difficult rejection and wind up sinking to a pretty dark place over everything his issues cost him.
