General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will have to figure out what his future looks like without Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) in it. Dante will get updates from Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and learn Lulu’s recovery could take a long time. Unfortunately, there’s no guarantee Lulu will ever wake up.
Of course, the fact that General Hospital cut Lulu at all was a shocker since Dante just returned. Once Dante’s comeback news broke, everyone assumed he’d get back together with Lulu. That could still happen someday, but it’s not happening anytime soon.
With that in mind, what’s the new plan for Dante? Will Dante wait for his true love or fall for someone else? This is a cruel twist of fate since the situation is so similar to when Dante left Lulu. Dante couldn’t be certain he’d ever get better, so he set Lulu free. Lulu had to decide if she’d keep waiting anyway or move on with her life.
GH fans know Lulu was willing to wait forever, but Dante pointed out that forever was an awfully long time. He ultimately pushed Lulu to divorce him, so Lulu relented. However, Lulu was also frustrated upon Dante’s return.
If Lulu had known Dante was going to come back so soon, she certainly wouldn’t have fallen for Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson).
The problem is neither one of them could know – just like Dante can’t know now. Dante has no way of determining if Lulu’s coma will last until next year or if this is the end of the road. Lulu could awaken in 2021 or stay in a coma until the day she dies.
So where does that leave Dante? Single indefinitely or tempted to let go like Lulu did? It’s doubtful Dante will rush into any kind of relationship since he’s pretty busy right now. Dante is focused on completing his mission to take down Peter August (Wes Ramsey) – and he should be adding another mission due to Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) latest move.
If Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) lets Dante in the loop, we could see Dante help Sonny and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) with Cyrus’ downfall. You can bet Dante will want revenge after what that bomb did to Lulu. Dante will also have to step up for Rocco Falconeri (O’Neill Monahan) in Lulu’s absence.
Since Dante will have a lot of non-romantic drama to occupy his time, General Hospital probably doesn’t plan to pair Dante up with anyone else in the near future. Nevertheless, it’s possible someone will come along and tempt Dante sooner or later.
