General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Dev Cerci aka “Dev Corbin” (Ashton Arbab) has been undergoing some major character changes lately. Dev has always had a bit of an attitude, but it started out as a fun aspect of his personality.
Even when Dev stole Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) journal and began manipulating the situation, he still felt like a tame teen schemer.
All that changed in the November 9 episode when Dev headed into creepy stalker territory. There was a huge shift in how Dev was portrayed – and it raises doubts about Dev’s ability to stick around. Since GH insiders point to more cast cuts, it’s certainly possible that Dev could be headed for the exit door.
Regardless, we need to talk about Dev’s harsh comments and disgusting, disrespectful behavior. On one hand, Dev’s actions were pretty true to life. Sadly, it’s common for teenage boys to turn on girls when they don’t get what they want.
Josslyn certainly isn’t obligated to reciprocate Dev’s feelings – no matter what she might’ve felt in the past. In fact, Dev’s previous rejection of Josslyn makes it even worse. Dev had his chance and he blew it!
No one can blame Joss for letting her feelings for Dev go and focusing on other options – namely Cameron Webber (William Lipton). Dev recently called Cameron a user and a selfish tool, but that’s a description that seems more appropriate for Dev now.
Dev argued that both Josslyn and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) were too blind to see Cameron’s true colors. That’s rich coming from someone who forged a journal entry and lied to keep Cam apart from Joss!
When Josslyn tried to calm Dev down, he took his cruelty up a notch by suggesting no one could ever live up to Joss’ precious Oscar Nero Quartermaine (Garren Stitt).
Dev brought Josslyn’s dead first love into this – and it was completely uncalled for. It just feels like GH writers are going out of their way to make Dev nasty and borderline scary. We wouldn’t feel comfortable seeing Dev alone in a room with Joss at this point, so that’s troubling indeed.
Dev’s outburst was in a public area, but what happens if he apologizes and makes another move in private? Josslyn might reject another kiss and infuriate Dev all over again. Just how low will GH’s teen villain sink?
Based on how Dev’s been acting, we wouldn’t be surprised if General Hospital turned him into a rapist or at least an attempted one.
Whatever the case, GH writers are creating a Dev problem that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may have to deal with! Dev could be shipped back to Turkey, where he’d likely face a deadly outcome due to the enemies that are after him.
