General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) imagination may have offered a hint about one character’s dark side. GH fans know Dante had a startling fantasy when he first met Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson).
Dante wound up gaining the upper hand and pulling a gun on Dustin, which left Lulu freaked out and desperate to prevent deadly disaster.
Of course, this provided an interesting look at what’s going on in Dante’s head. It obviously shows us that Dante is still unwell and has the potential to be quite dangerous.
Normal people don’t have fantasies like that, so General Hospital wanted to show us that Dante was still deeply disturbed and a loose cannon.
However, it’s possible there was another reason for that fantasy. Despite Dante’s issues, he’s inevitably going to get back together with Lulu and help take down Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Dante is part of the Corinthos clan; this is Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) son. A hero! A winner!
The goal here will eventually be to make Dante look good, so could that mean Dustin will take a dark turn? It’s possible Dante’s intuition was at work when he first met Dustin – “Desmond” or “Darius” if you prefer!
Dante naturally isn’t going to be a huge fan of the guy who took his place, but what if the vision was less about Dante being dangerous and more about an internal alert system?
Since Dante’s the hero of this story, it’s easy to imagine GH writers throwing Dustin under the bus a bit. It’s always been odd that we know so little about Dustin’s past other than his link to Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Briana Lane).
Dustin could be a character who’s similar to Peter – sweet as pie on the surface with darkness buried underneath.
Even if Dustin’s past turns out to be clean, there’s the potential for trouble moving forward. Dustin could get bitter when things inevitably fall apart with Lulu. This might even be something Cyrus could use to pull Dustin into his web.
After all, Cyrus wants Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) to be a driver among other things, including a liaison of sorts. Still, it was that driver angle that Cyrus first worked – and the show’s already established Dustin as a part-time driver in the past.
Dustin might be someone who could wind up on Cyrus’ radar and caught in that world.
