General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, December 18, reveal that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) fumed at Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) in Jordan’s office at the PCPD.
Curtis was upset because Marcus Taggert (Asante Jones) was alive, and he suspected that Jordan had known about it for a while. Jordan admitted that she was in on Taggert’s “death” from the beginning, and she said that she didn’t want to risk Curtis being charged as an accessory.
Curtis demanded to know who else knew about Taggert being alive, and he was peeved to learn that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) knew.
Curtis ranted about how broken up he was about Taggert’s supposed death, and he said that keeping information from him was a pattern with Jordan. Curtis said it was lying and he wasn’t ok with it, and he left the office in a huff.
At the long-term care facility in Vermont, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) told Laura Collins (Genie Francis) that he had left her a trail of breadcrumbs and she followed them.
“Welcome to the family, sis,” Cyrus said, noting that Gordon Grey was their father. Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) and Cyrus bickered, and Laura wondered when Cyrus found out that they were related.
Cyrus said that he found out shortly after Laura had him put in solitary confinement in Pentonville. Laura fumed that he held Cyrus responsible for the bomb that injured Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan). Martin then revealed that Cyrus had killed their father Gordon.
Cyrus took issue with this, but Martin went on to explain that Cyrus ran Gordon over with a car as a teenager.
Martin continued, saying that their family ended up in Louisiana after they left Port Charles, and that Cyrus got in with the wrong crowd. Gordon tried to take Cyrus’ car keys, and that’s when Cyrus got the keys and ran over Gordon with the car.
Cyrus yelled at Martin saying that it was an accident. “You hated Dad,” Martin said, but Cyrus insisted that he never wanted Gordon dead.
“Mama never believed you, and neither do I,” Martin seethed, telling Laura that their mother kicked Cyrus out of the house, and Cyrus said that he lived out of his car and moved west. Martin told Cyrus that their mother would never be proud of him.
Laura noted that Florence Grey (Anne Collings) was waking up, and Martin spoke softly to her. Cyrus then walked up and said he was here too. Florence looked surprised.
At the Corinthos house, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) told Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) that Taggert was alive. Josslyn learned that Taggert was ok, and that he was in police custody and safe from Cyrus now.
Josslyn wondered if Carly ever questioned how strange their lives were, and that led to an honest discussion of Sonny and Jason’s business and how they don’t know a lot about it, but it impacts their lives.
Carly said that she understood if life in their house wasn’t working for Josslyn anymore, but Josslyn said that she didn’t want to leave, and she credited her mom for being a great role model. Carly and Josslyn shared some touching moments together, and they hugged warmly.
At the bus station in New Jersey, the shootout continued, and Jason shot Cyrus’ guy dead. Jason immediately called Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy), but he was interrupted by a cop who promptly cuffed Jason.
Jason wouldn’t talk without his attorney, and just then Diane showed up on the scene. Diane finagled a moment alone with Jason, who said he shot in self-defense and explained what happened.
Jason said that he had to get out of there because Sonny needed backup. Diane urged the cop to look at the security tape footage to verify that the shooting was in self-defense.
Diane got the cop to look, and he decided that the shooting was in self-defense and that Jason could go, but that he had to come down to the station in the morning to make a statement. Jason took off.
On the bridge, Julian Jerome (William deVry) staggered along, weak from his gunshot wound. Sonny appeared with his weapon drawn, saying there was no more running, and that this ends right now.
“This is your big chance to live,” Sonny yelled. “We’re going to the cops and you’ll tell them that Cyrus ordered you to plant the bomb!”
Julian said that if he did that, then he’s a dead man. Julian said that he didn’t know the bomb would go off when the restaurant was full of people.
Sonny said that this was Julian’s shot at redemption – he could take Cyrus down to make Port Charles safer for the kids he claims to love. Julian pretended to collapse, and Sonny checked his pulse, but then Julian attacked.
Sonny and Julian fought over Sonny’s gun, and the gun went off. Julian was shot, and he staggered along onto a part of the bridge that was cordoned off. “Don’t make me shoot you in the back, Julian!” Sonny yelled.
Suddenly, Julian fell to the ground, dead. Sonny checked for a pulse. “Just like you, Julian – you died running away,” Sonny said.
Sonny stood up, and suddenly Jason approached the bridge, but the portion of the bridge where Sonny and Julian were positioned suddenly dropped into the river, with Jason helpless to do anything. “Sonny!” Jason called out.
