General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, January 31, reveal that Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) frantically realized that her son Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) had been shot. She freaked out, while Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) tried to calm her down.
Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) then showed up, and while Brando was carted off to the hospital, Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) grilled Jason about who might have attacked Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Jason stayed mum.
Meanwhile, at GH, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) questioned Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) again, and she repeated that the pier shooter had aimed straight at Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell).
Elsewhere in the hospital, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) blasted Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma), who tried to say that he never intended for Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) to become unreachable. Finn said that Nikolas wouldn’t get away with this.
At the Corinthos estate, Michael and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) arrived, and Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab) wanted to know what was going on with all the security at the house.
Michael said that something bad had gone down, then took a call from Jason before telling Dev to go spend time with Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) to make things seem normal for her.
A shaken Sasha then spoke with Michael alone, noting that it seems like he had been through this before. Michael said that he had learned how to handle crises like this, and he comforted Sasha, who wondered if there would be more incidents like this. Sasha said that she couldn’t take it if something happened to Michael.
Back at GH, Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) spoke with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebeca Herbst) and apologized for enabling Nikolas to hurt Hayden. Elizabeth was puzzled, noting that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was responsible for Hayden’s disappearance. Jax then set her straight, saying that it was Nikolas who forced Hayden into hiding.
Nikolas then arrived, and Elizabeth promptly slapped him and blasted him for separating Hayden and Violet Barnes (Jophielle Love). Elizabeth got called away, and Jax spoke with Finn briefly, who noted that it was hard coming up with excuses every time Violet asks where her mother is.
Elsewhere in the hospital, Gladys waited in the ER while Brando was being treated. Jax and Josslyn came in, and Gladys explained about Brando saving Carly’s life. Carly then walked up and had an emotional reunion with Josslyn, then learned that Laura Collins (Genie Francis) had been shot on the pier.
Jax and Carly stepped aside and Jax demanded to know what’s going on. Carly said that obviously someone’s making a move on Sonny.
Carly then sat next to Gladys and talked about Brando. Carly wondered why Gladys had claimed that Brando was dead when she knew that he was alive. Before she could answer, Finn came along and announced that Brando was stable, and that Gladys could go see him.
Carly perked up when she heard Elizabeth mention that Brando’s personal effects were being passed along to the police. She snuck over and took something from the bag of his things, which turned out to be a photo of Dev and Gladys.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth told Finn that Jax had informed her about Nikolas driving Hayden out of Port Charles. She wondered how Finn was doing, and she reminded him that Violet has a lot of people who love her, so he should lean on them. Finn suggested that they get together for a play date sometime.
Next, at the warehouse, Chase and Jordan questioned Sonny’s guy, Tony DeMarco (Phillip Boyd). He recounted the whole attack at the warehouse, with Jason in the background listening. Jason was interested to hear that Brando was the man who saved Carly, and that Tony didn’t know where he came from.
Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews) appeared, and he deduced that Sonny’s men must have held one of the gunmen for Sonny. Jordan promised Jason that she had plenty of questions for Sonny when he returned, and she told Jason that he should think about cooperating, for the sake of the people he loved. She noted that whoever is coming after them has no code.
As Taggert beamed at Jordan, Jordan told Jason forcefully that she was going to put a stop to whatever was going on, and that if she had to bring him and Sonny down with everyone else, then she’d do it.
Back at the Corinthos house, Jax and Josslyn arrived, and Dev made a beeline for Josslyn and hugged her big and said that he had been very worried about her.
Sasha and Michael grouped with Dev, Jax, and Josslyn, and Josslyn revealed to everyone that the person who had saved Carly was Brando…Dev’s “father.” Dev was stunned.
Finally, at Crimson, Valentin vowed not to stop until he got Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) back. Ava Jerome (Maura West) then stepped in and said that Nina shouldn’t humor Valentin’s nonsense.
But Valentin persisted, saying that he and Nina could work things out. Ava kept butting in, saying that he was delusional and didn’t know the first thing about love.
Later, Nikolas showed up and presented Valentin with a restraining order to keep him out of Wyndemere, and an order for a DNA test. Valentin mocked Nikolas, saying that Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) was playing him from the grave and that he was just a punchline to her last pathetic joke.
Nikolas told Valentin to stay away from his home, and Nina told Valentin goodbye.
