General Hospital Spoilers: Greg Vaughan Talks Lucky Spencer Return, Coming Back to GH – See What’s Next for Exiting Days Star

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that ever since Greg Vaughan (ex-Lucky Spencer 2003-2009) announced his decision to leave Days of Our Lives, GH fans have been clamoring to get him back in Port Charles. Vaughan has filmed his last scenes as Eric Brady on DOOL – at least for now. Although Vaughan doesn’t rule out a return to Days someday, he doesn’t rule out a return to GH either.

Vaughan recently gave Soap Opera Digest an exit interview, which spelled out his reasons for leaving the NBC soap behind. It all boils down to shifting priorities and dissatisfaction with the writing his Days character received. Vaughan’s ready for a new chapter, but would he be open to portraying a new chapter for Lucky Spencer, too? The answer is maybe!

“When you get an opportunity, it’s something to consider,” Vaughan said about the possibility of returning to GH. “I can’t answer that 100 percent right now if I would or would not.” However, Vaughan did admit it’d “definitely be flattering” to get the offer. The popular soap actor didn’t shut down the idea, but it seems it’d be something he’d have to mull over.

One reason why might be Vaughan’s new location. Vaughan recently moved to North Carolina with his family, so he has to keep that in mind now when he’s considering job offers. Although Vaughan wants to plant new roots outside of LA, he plans to keep acting. “There’s so many actors that live across the world and country that commute,” Vaughan pointed out.

It sounds like GH’s best option would be to give Vaughan a little time to focus on this new beginning and then hit him up with a temporary offer. It doesn’t sound like Vaughan would be all that interested in a permanent return, but Lucky could always come home for a few months. A big adventure story featuring Lucky and others might be fun.

Regardless, the fact that Vaughan’s willing to consider a General Hospital return is great news. Anything can happen down the road. Vaughan had plenty of positive things to say about his time on GH, so you never know! “Those were some of my most formative years in daytime that really gave me a good foundation that I deeply remember and love,” Vaughan said.
