General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that as long as Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) alive, a target will remain on his back. GH fans know Jason’s exploratory surgery went well, so Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) updated Sam McCall (Lindsay Hartley) and suggested they’d know more when Jason wakes up. However, if Jason recovers and puts himself back out in the world, he’ll still be at risk.
Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) has no intention of letting Jason live, so will Jason have to “die” instead? Could Jason fake his death and plot a sneak attack against Cyrus? Let’s consider some hints that General Hospital has offered so far.
On the episode that aired August 10, Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) once again flashed back to a secret burner phone call. That call was almost certainly made to an alive Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews). Like Jason, Taggert was also a dead man walking – unless he became a “dead” man to Cyrus.
After Taggert was shot and hospitalized, it looked like he was going to be OK. Taggert sent Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) to get him a box of candy and was supposedly dead when she came back. That death just didn’t feel genuine – and Jordan’s mysterious phone call seemingly confirmed that it wasn’t.
Jordan flashed back to that call and admitted to Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) that there are still things he doesn’t know. Taggert’s survival is undoubtedly the main thing.
Will Jason be the next character to fake his death? It’d be interesting if Jason was brought in the loop on Taggert’s secret and decided to team up with him. Taggert and “Anger Boy” – fighting on the same side!
In Jordan’s last chat with Jason, she suggested it was a shame he got mixed up in Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) business. Although Jordan understood the reasons why, she admitted Jason would’ve made a good cop.
This could be Jason’s chance in a way. Maybe Jason and Taggert could become partners who take Cyrus down together.
Of course, Taggert will have to face the wrath of his loved ones for leaving them in the dark. The same goes for Jason if he follows Taggert’s lead. That could set up some explosive drama if Jason and Taggert show up to deliver a double survival bomb!
