General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall) is breaking her silence following her return to the ABC soap. Lindsay Hartley was recently brought in as a temporary recast while Monaco was under a 14-day quarantine. Monaco’s mom, Carmina Monaco, confirmed that as the reason for her daughter’s brief absence and pointed to some mask issues on set.
Fortunately, everything worked out and now Monaco’s back in the role of Sam McCall. Since GH viewers have been sending Monaco so much love, she decided to post a message and show them some love in return. Let’s look at what Monaco had to say in some of her latest tweets.
“I must thank the amazing #GH fans for all of the love and support they have shown me in the past couple of weeks,” Monaco said. “It’s been a crazy year and I feel so blessed, grateful and humbled to be able to continue to do what I love… 20yrs and counting with @ABC.. what an honor!!!”
Monaco followed that tweet up with one to thank Lindsay Hartley for filling in while she was gone. Hartley had her work cut out for her when she stepped in for Sam, but she handled the material well and kept the “JaSam” drama going for us.
Monaco was certainly impressed with Hartley’s work – and she’s excited for fans to see what’s to come now that she’s reclaimed the role.
“I also wanna give a huge shout out to @lindsayhartley for stepping in and doing a beautiful job playing Sam,” Monaco said. “Girl.. you kicked ass. Way to go. stay tuned… @GeneralHospital is just heating up!”
Monaco even retweeted one GH fan’s tweet about Sam needing a long-lost twin sister! Although it’s nice to see Monaco back as Sam, it’d be great if General Hospital could invent a new role for Hartley. That might be something for GH to mull over since Hartley made a big impression with her short stint.
Whatever happens, Monaco seems thrilled to be back – and some good stuff’s clearly on the horizon. There’s always another crisis around the corner for Sam and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), so we’ll give you updates as other GH news becomes available.
