General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) has been rocking a new hairstyle thanks to her talented daughter. She’s a proud mom to Harper Rose Barash, the six-year-old girl she shares with Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny Zacchara on GH, soon-to-be-returning Stefan DiMera on Days of Our Lives).
It turns out Harper recently wanted to braid her mom’s hair, so Storms thought she would indulge her. She figured it’d just be a tangled attempt, but she was blown away by her daughter’s braiding skills. Harper went to work and soon, Storms was marveling at the cute braid in the back. It was a moment that left this GH actress grateful to be raising such a cool, independent kiddo.
“When Harper asked me if she could braid my hair, my first thought was ‘Get the detangling spray out, it’s gonna be a knotty ride’…and then she started sectioning my hair into 3 parts,” Storms said on Instagram. “’I taught myself how to braid, Mommy! Let me take a picture so you can see!’ I’m still shocked (cut me some slack..she just turned 6) – and also really proud.”
Storms went on to talk about how she does braids for Harper all the time. She ran down the list of different kinds – including Elsa braids, pigtail braids and even six French braids by request one day. Since braids are sort of this mother-daughter duo’s thing, Storms wasn’t surprised that Harper knew this would give her all the “feels.”
The General Hospital star reflected on when she learned to braid through lessons from her own mom. She thinks back fondly on those memories, but she’s even more impressed that Harper learned to do this all on her own. “My mom taught me how to braid – which I’ve always thought was special, but my daughter taught herself and her determination kicks ass,” Storms insisted in her updates.
Storms added that she wanted to keep the braid in as long she could. The news that Harper could braid was such a fun surprise, so this mom was in no hurry to ditch the look. “Yes, I’m totally still rocking this hairdo and will be until the rubber band falls out. #itsthelittlethings #futureDIYer #braidsbyBuggy”
