General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that one ABC soap alum is asking fans for support! Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr Manning on One Life to Live and GH, ex-Kiki Jerome) recently shared some difficult news on social media. It turns out Alderson’s beloved dog, Pooka, has been facing a medical crisis.
Alderson sent out a series of tweets about what Pooka’s up against and asked for prayers. She views fans as a great support system that’s helped her family with other issues in the past, so she was hoping for another favor.
“Pooka (my dog/baby for those who don’t know him) is in the ICU with congestive heart failure,” Alderson said. “We rushed him there last night when he seemed to have trouble breathing. They called us this morning that he went from bad to worse. As of now, he’s doing a little better.”
Alderson admitted it was best if she didn’t see Pooka since his condition was improving. It wasn’t a good idea to get Pooka all excited and risk heart trouble.
Alderson insisted that her dog was in good hands, so she was just trying to pray and hope for a positive outcome. Many One Life to Live and General Hospital fans reached out to show their support, so Alderson certainly appreciated it.
Later, Alderson gave everyone some updates on Pooka, who’s hopefully on the road to recovery. Pooka’s battle isn’t over yet, but Alderson does feel better about the situation. The former OLTL and GH actress was given some good news about Pooka, so that’s nice to hear.
“Cannot thank everyone enough for all of your prayers!” Alderson tweeted. “We just called and they said that he’s doing better. He ate for them and finally got some sleep. He’s not out of the woods yet, but he’s seeing his cardiologist tomorrow so we’ll know more then. Again, THANK YOU!”
