General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) recently stirred up some interest through an Instagram story. GH fans have likely heard by now that Emme Rylan is exiting the role of Lulu Spencer.
Rylan couldn’t officially confirm her upcoming departure, but she let fans know that she’d be making lemons out of lemonade by taking a family road trip with her newfound free time.
Rylan could at least confirm that what happened wasn’t her choice. That brings us to Wright’s Instagram story, which some General Hospital viewers thought might be a hint.
A fan posted an old photo featuring Wright with Julie Marie Berman (ex-Lulu Spencer), Kelly Sullivan (ex-Kate Howard aka Connie Falconeri) and Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie Spencer).
That led Wright to share the picture as a fun flashback for her followers.
This caused some fans to speculate that Berman might be back in the role of Lulu. However, that seems pretty doubtful under the circumstances. Rylan has made the role of Lulu her own and is widely accepted by viewers.
Even if some fans might prefer Berman’s portrayal, Rylan was a successful recast in general. Although there’s a chance Lulu could land in a coma and set up a recast, it doesn’t seem likely that’s how things will play out.
We’re probably looking at Lulu’s death or a long-term coma with no Lulu on canvas at all.
It’s just tough to imagine General Hospital actually firing Rylan to let Berman come back in and replace her. They’d be taking a huge risk for no reason.
There’d be no major reward or ratings boost waiting at the end of the swap. It’s not like switching Lulus would drastically change anything, so why bother?
Instead, it seems there’s no need to think of Wright’s post as anything more than it was – a cute flashback Friday post for fans to enjoy. Anything is possible, but we’d say this is just a little nostalgia from days gone by! We’ll keep you in the loop as other GH news and updates emerge.
