General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) and Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) relationship will face more bumps in the road. GH fans know Franco messed up horribly when he suggested Liz wasn’t a “real artist.” Franco didn’t mean it the way it sounded and quickly tried to backtrack, but the damage was done.
Later, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) assured Liz that her art and talent were indeed real. Nik’s always impressed by Liz, especially considering what happened to Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig). It’s Nikolas’ fault that Hayden’s missing and may even be dead – at least as far as anyone in Port Charles knows.
However, Liz is a sweet soul and knows Nikolas didn’t mean for this to happen. She’s softening toward Nik, so many fans are picking up on the chemistry between them. There’s some history between Nikolas and Elizabeth, which is important. Could this spark turn into something more? Does Nik still have romantic feelings for Liz?
Marcus Coloma opened up about that in a new interview with Soap Opera Digest. The General Hospital star sees the potential for reconnection based on how Nikolas feels. “I think he feels a lot of ‘what if?’ where Elizabeth is concerned because they didn’t work out when they got involved while she was in a relationship with his brother,” Coloma said.
Coloma went on to suggest that Nikolas may think he’s meant to be with Liz. He believes Nikolas is at least mulling over that possibility. “I think he’s definitely entertaining the idea that they were right for each other and should have been together,” Coloma said.
Of course, one minor fight isn’t going to destroy “Friz,” but there’s more drama coming for the duo during the week of May 18-22. Franco may once again try to apologize, but will Liz be ready to hear it?
General Hospital spoilers say we’ll see a turning point for Franco and Liz soon enough. There’ll be a moment that’ll either point them in the direction of strengthening their relationship or send them down a path that could leave them crumbling.
GH seems pretty invested in Franco and Liz at this point, so it’s tough to believe they’ll break them up anytime soon. We also know Liz and Franco will begin to get some hints about Nik and Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) manipulations.
Ava and Nikolas both have plans to activate that cheating clause, so Franco and Liz could catch on according to all the latest clues.
Nevertheless, Nikolas and Liz’s chemistry is certainly there and will be ripe for the taking if GH ever wants to revisit this pairing one day. We’ll keep you posted as other news and updates emerge.
