General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that the “Friz” family could use some drama. Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) certainly deserved a stretch of happiness after Franco’s memory-mapping ordeal, but that blissful period needs to end. Liz and Franco aren’t going to get much airtime until some trouble strikes.
GH has seemingly been setting that trouble up through Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma). Both Nik and Ava want to put that cheating clause into effect.
They could potentially cause issues in Franco and Liz’s relationship as a result, but this storyline is moving ridiculously slow. Will General Hospital writers ever get where they’re going? Could they change course instead?
Nikolas seems poised to enter all the Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) drama based on his reaction the Cyrus’ release. It looks like Nik may have some secrets, so GH might be pushing him into a new story.
We also know the tension between Ava and Nikolas will rev up soon – and tension could lead to passion. It’s possible this whole Franco and Liz angle will never really go anywhere.
Regardless, Franco and Liz could use something to shake up their world. If it ties in with the kids, that’s even better. Perhaps it’s time for Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) to pop back up in town.
If Jonathan Jackson isn’t willing to return, General Hospital could always go for a recast. That might work out better for long-term storylines anyway. Lucky is needed in Port Charles, even if he has a new face.
Could Lucky become real competition for Franco? If Ava and Nik manage to blow things up for “Friz” after all, that might give Lucky an opening. Even if Liz and Lucky didn’t reunite, Aiden Webber (Jason David) would enjoy having his father around.
That could lead to some interesting parenting issues since Lucky’s used to being the fun dad – just the parent who pops up for Ireland trips and things like that.
There might be some problems if Lucky came back to Port Charles and announced he was there to stay. Even so, it might be good for Aiden. That’s especially true if other school dilemmas occur as Aiden gets older. Bullying isn’t usually a quick fix, so the other kids could get nasty again – particularly if Aiden were to be rapidly aged.
General Hospital would create some great opportunities with a Lucky comeback. It’d be the dramatic jolt the “Friz” family needs. It’d be nice to see Lucky reunite with Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and his other family members, too.
