General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, August 24, reveal that Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) told Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) that Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson) was not in his crib. Michael spotted a rag on the floor and noticed that it had a chemical smell, which Monica confirmed was chloroform. Michael promptly got on the phone and reported Wiley’s kidnapping to the police.
At the Metro Court, Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) was enjoying a drink at the bar when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) walked up. Brando thanked Sonny for urging him to attend the Nurses’ Ball.
Across the room, Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) sat down for a drink, while Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) approached and gushed about how Nina had helped Michael in the custody case.
Carly then walked up to Sonny and Brando, and Sonny reported that Turning Woods had called him to say that they showed Mike Corbin (Max Gail) a video of the 2018 Nurses’ Ball where Sonny and Mike sang together. Mike smiled the whole way through, and Brando wanted to see the performance, so he watched it on a tablet.
Carly then got a phone call from Michael about Wiley’s kidnapping, and Carly immediately assumed it was Nelle Benson Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) doing. Carly and Sonny decided that Carly would head over to the Quartermaine mansion while Sonny worked on a lead of his own.
Brando went off with Sonny, while Carly told Jax and Nina that Wiley had been kidnapped. Carly rushed off.
At the hospital, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was resting when Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) came in. Soon, Jason got a call saying that the preliminary report from his accident was in, and it was the stabilizer that caused the crash.
Sam immediately assumed that Brando must be involved, but Jason said that Brando had been open with him and Sonny, and that they didn’t need to decide anything tonight. Sam agreed, and she left for the evening.
Near the nurses’ station, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) waited anxiously for word on Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Briana Lane).
Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) arrived and got some preliminary information from Ned and Olivia. Ned admitted that he was angry with Brook Lynn at the time of the attack, but Chase said that he wasn’t a suspect.
Ned and Olivia suggested that Linc Brown (Dan Buran) could be a suspect, and Olivia thought that maybe Brook Lynn walked in on something she shouldn’t have.
Chase walked off to talk with another cop, and he noted that Olivia was right, and that this seemed like a crime of passion or desperation. Chase then got a call about Wiley’s kidnapping and had to go.
Soon, Portia Robinson (Brooke Kerr) arrived and said that she had an update on Brook Lynn – she had a log way to go before she’d be out of the woods, and her condition was critical.
Portia assured Ned that the best surgeons were working on Brook Lynn. After Portia left, Ned broke down and cried in Olivia’s arms. Olivia comforted Ned and assured him that Brook Lynn would pull through.
At the pier, Julian Jerome (William deVry) held Nelle at gunpoint and Nelle tried to talk her way out of her own murder, but Julian was determined to get rid of Nelle for good.
Julian even said that he didn’t care if Sonny found out about his involvement; he just wanted Nelle gone. Julian was about to pull the trigger when Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) jumped him from behind. Julian and Taggert struggled, and ultimately Taggert ended up on the ground unconscious and Nelle left. Julian ran off.
Back at the Q mansion, Chase arrived and learned that Nelle was supposed to perform at the Nurses’ Ball. Michael thought that it must have been a diversion. Carly arrived in short order, and Willow realized that Wiley’s stuffed kangaroo was missing from Wiley’s room – even more proof that Nelle took Wiley.
Carly got on the phone and called Jason at the hospital. After learning all the details about Wiley’s kidnapping, Jason hung up and called Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) saying he needed his help.
Meanwhile, Monica got taken to GH for evaluation, and Chase promised Willow that he’d find Nelle before anything happened to Wiley.
At Charlie’s Pub, Julian arrived, and soon Sonny walked in saying he had a problem because Nelle had kidnapped Wiley. Julian said he didn’t have anything to do with it, but Sonny noticed that Julian wasn’t shocked that Nelle took Wiley.
Sonny yelled at Julian to quit stalling, but Julian didn’t give up any information. Suddenly, Brando walked in from the back room carrying a duffel bag full of clothes, and Sonny realized that Julian was packed and ready to go somewhere.
Julian lied and said he was donating clothes for the clothing drive. Sonny didn’t buy it, but Julian wouldn’t cough up any information, and Sonny and Brando took off. Sonny took the duffel bag with him, warning Julian that when Nelle got caught, she might have a different story to tell.
In a car, Nelle drove with Wiley in the back seat. Suddenly, there were police lights behind her, and Nelle thought this was the end. However, the lights and sirens went away, and Nelle explained to Wiley that this wasn’t her car – it was one that she had stolen with no tracking device on it.
Nelle told Wiley that they were going far away to have wonderful adventures, and that Carly and the rest of them would never find them.
Back at the Q mansion, Carly told Willow and Michael that she called Jason, who was now out there looking for Wiley. Chase rushed in and said that they found Nelle’s car parked somewhere, and that there was no sign of her or Wiley.
Back at the pier, Jason arrived as he talked on the phone with Spinelli, who had discovered that Nelle’s phone last pinged at the pier. Jason disconnected and noticed a man lying on the ground.
Jason moved in for a closer look and said, “Taggert.” Taggert regained consciousness and looked at Jason, saying “Anger Boy.” Jason was shocked.
