General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, January 6 Recap – Valentin Tries To Flee With Charlotte – Ava Reveals Nik Marriage – Helena’s Son Exposed

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, January 6, reveal that everyone at Wyndemere reeled as they realized Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) was standing before them with an unconscious Ava Jerome (Maura West) in his arms.

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) tended to Ava while Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) embraced Nikolas in tears.

After getting Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) safely out of the room, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) faced down Nikolas. Lulu accused Valentin of keeping Nikolas captive, but Valentin denied it.

Ava, who was now conscious, noted that Valentin had shot Nikolas and just tried to kill her. Nikolas confirmed that Valentin just tried to push Ava off the parapet.

Valentin balked and Nikolas brought up the codicil, which Valentin said was just a piece of paper and was probably forged. Nikolas said that he had the codicil and it says that Valentin is disinherited, and that the reason Mikkos Cassadine (John Colicos) amended his will was because Valentin wasn’t Mikkos’ son – he’s Helena Cassadine’s (Constance Towers) son.

Valentin and Nikolas continued to bicker, and Nikolas revealed that Helena had passed Valentin off as Mikkos’ son, but he wasn’t. They continued to argue, and finally Laura asked to speak to Nikolas alone, and before walking off, Nikolas told Valentin that if he didn’t believe him…ask Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).

Valentin turned to Nina and remarked that she didn’t seem surprised to see Nikolas, which Nina confirmed that she wasn’t. Valentin then realized why things had seemed off with Nina, and why she had invited certain people to their wedding.

Nearly in tears, he asked if Nina had anything to say to him, and she revealed that she knew it was him all along, since he was the only person who could have pulled off the fake daughter scam. She then said Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) provided her with the missing piece, and that she knew how he faked the original DNA test.

Valentin said that he loved her, and that the truth was the he might not have the skill to love her in the way that she wants him to. But he also deflected, saying that he never manipulated her, yet others in that room, including Liesl and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) had certainly manipulated her.

He then walked out, prompting Ava to yell that Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) should arrest him for trying to kill her.

Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) stepped forward and defended Valentin, arguing that Ava was drunk and that Liesl’s account of Valentin’s misdeeds wasn’t trustworthy. Later Jordan and Curtis spoke privately, and Jordan indicated that she needed to bring Valentin in for questioning.

Meanwhile, away from the rest of the action, Nikolas told Laura and Lulu the story about how Valentin shot him, and he fell into the sea, then was picked up by a yacht. As he talked, Lulu seemed sympathetic, but Laura was clearly outraged that Nikolas has been alive for a long time and never came forward.

Nikolas explained that once he regained his strength, he found out that Valentin inherited everything, and that he had to stay away and plan his course of action.

Nikolas hoped that his mom and sister would understand that he wanted to come back every day, at which point he walked up to his mother and she slapped him in anger. She then went on about Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) and the effect that his death had on Spencer.

Laura simply couldn’t believe that Nikolas had been plotting revenge for three years while his son suffered. Laura then realized that Nikolas was at the Halloween party, and that he had “haunted” Ava.

Nikolas tried to explain that maybe what he did was wrong, but that he did it for Spencer, and that she didn’t really know how dangerous Valentin was. He said that he’d finally won and that the damage can now be repaired.

In the midst of their discussion, Ava burst into the room and said, “Nikolas, it’s time.” She then revealed that she and Nikolas were getting married…tonight.

Upstairs in Charlotte’s room, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Peter August (Wes Ramsey) put Charlotte to bed. Charlotte was worried about what was going on downstairs, but Peter stepped up and soothed her, and Charlotte eventually fell asleep.

Peter and Maxie then quietly talked about what had happened, with Maxie noting that Nikolas had obviously changed, and that Liesl clearly knew that the wedding was a setup.

Maxie lamented about how terrible it would be to live with all the lies, and Peter pointed out that Valentin’s love for Nina was real, despite his lies about other things…after all, rotten people love, too.

Soon, Valentin came in the bedroom and roused Charlotte, clearly planning to escape with her. Maxie stopped him and said that he wasn’t going anywhere.

Across town, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab) exchanged New Year gifts – a custom in Turkey. His gift to her included a pomegranate, which you’re supposed to smash on the threshold for good luck.

Afterwards, Josslyn wiped off some of the pomegranate from Dev’s face, and he promised that this year would be better for her. She then pulled him into a kiss.

However, Dev pulled back pretty quickly and she surmised that he didn’t feel that way about her. She got embarrassed, and he explained that the Corinthos family had done so much for him and that he didn’t want to disrespect the family.

She understood, and they took off to meet Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) in the park.

Meanwhile, in the park, Trina and Cameron skated, and Cameron wondered where Josslyn and Dev were and whether they were together. Trina then called out Cameron on his feelings for Josslyn, which Cameron denied.

Cameron was dismayed to hear that Trina had tried to push Dev and Josslyn together. Dev and Josslyn then arrived, and Joss told Trina privately that she kissed Dev and it was a disaster.
