General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Monday, July 20, tease that more trouble’s brewing in Port Charles. The ABC soap’s revisiting the drama from an episode that originally aired on May 6, 2020. General Hospital viewers can expect plenty of conflict and some tough decisions in this great encore.
At GH, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) when she gets a call from Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner), who’s concerned about Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers).
Anna gets updates on Robert’s struggles over Holly Sutton’s (Emma Samms) death and assures Felicia she’ll join them at The Floating Rib.
Next, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) gets an earful from Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) at the Metro Court. Jax doesn’t think Carly was very nice to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) in her office earlier.
When Jax mentions Nina’s front-row seat for Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) and Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) battle, Carly argues that this custody case is a far different one.
Jax knows Carly’s hoping to take Nelle Benson Archer (Chloe Lanier) down with Nina’s help, but Nina isn’t willing to plant evidence or offer dirt that isn’t true. Carly just wants Nina to see that this nice act Nelle’s putting on is just that – an act.
After Carly reflects on the sacrifices of motherhood, she suggests she doesn’t think Nelle’s capable of being selfless. Jax ultimately promises he’ll speak with Nina, so Carly’s hopeful that he’ll steer Nina in the right direction.
At Turning Woods, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) fills Mike Corbin (Max Gail) in on it being Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) birthday. Sonny pulls up a pic of Dante on his phone and wonders if Mike recognizes him.
A little later, Sonny brings up the possibility of a DNR and questions what his father’s wishes are. Mike doesn’t understand, but he mentions the Yankees and watches a game with Sonny.
That shows Sonny there’s still a glimmer of his dad in there. Sonny doesn’t feel like Mike’s ready to give up, so he can’t make any firm decisions about the DNR yet.
At the community center, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) faces her appalled family. Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) can’t believe Kristina would say such hurtful things to Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).
Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) also thinks Kristina’s being outrageous since she’s never had a successful relationship in her life. She blames Kristina’s attitude on jealousy.
Sam eventually exclaims that she needs a drink, but she realizes that’s probably not the right thing to say in front of Alexis. Molly and Kristina are stunned when Alexis admits she’s only been sober for two weeks. Sam feels responsible for Alexis losing her sobriety battle, but Alexis doesn’t blame her daughter for that.
Unfortunately, Alexis’ day gets even worse thanks to a call from Diane Miller (Carolyn Henessy). Once Alexis disconnects, she gives Sam, Kristina and Molly the news that she’s been disbarred.
Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) walk in The Floating Rib, but they decide they’d better leave since Robert’s there. However, Maxie and Peter want to offer their condolences first.
Peter riles Robert up in the process, so Robert lashes out and upsets Maxie. After Peter steps away, he texts someone angrily and wants some answers. Once Maxie catches up with Peter, she lets him know Robert’s just grieving and has had too much to drink. Maxie knows Peter isn’t to blame for Holly’s death.
Peter isn’t as certain since he ordered a distraction for Robert, so he confronts the man he put on the job. After Peter slams his minion against the wall, he gets reassurance that this man didn’t kill Holly. Peter decides fate simply worked in his favor and brought the distraction for him.
Over with Anna again, she faces Felicia’s questions. Felicia can tell something’s up, so Anna reflects on the WSB file and suggests there’s more to meets the eye when it comes to Holly’s death.
At the boxing gym, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) punches Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) mitts to get rid of some stress. Unfortunately, more arrives moments later.
Brook Lynn is livid to see Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) together. After Brook Lynn starts a fight, it escalates to the point where she slugs Sasha in the face.
Brook Lynn defends the punch as an accident, but she receives a public disturbance ticket anyway. Chase rages after Brook Lynn rips up the ticket, so he opts to slap handcuffs on and arrest her again.
At Crimson, Nelle makes a strong pitch for why Nina should testify on her behalf. Nina is reluctant, but Nelle just wants someone to give her a chance. She thinks she can be like Nina someday, but only if she’s given an opportunity to do better.
Once Nelle leaves, she phones Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) to fill him in on the character witness she’s found.
As for Nina, she brings Jax up to speed on Nelle’s latest plea. Jax isn’t happy that Nina’s really considering this and hints that Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson) will suffer if Nina helps Nelle.
