General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, June 29 – Sonny Shoots Dante – Lulu Blasts Lying ‘Trash’ Liz, Luke Offers Compassion

General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Monday, June 29, tease that another fantastic encore’s in store. This blast-from-the-past GH episode was first seen on January 29, 2010. General Hospital fans can expect some tense moments as Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) prepares to kill “Dominic Pirelli” aka Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).

Before the big showdown, Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) is off battling concerns. “Lady Jane” Jacks (Barbara Tarbuck) realizes Jax has a secret he’s keeping from Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) that could ruin everything. Jax confesses he wanted to rid them all of Sonny for good, so he arranged it and expects Sonny’s arrest soon.

Meanwhile, Sonny talks to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and gets confirmation that everything’s set. Sonny’s ready for “Dominic” to be a dead man. Over with Dante, he defends himself when Ronnie Dimestico (Ronnie Marmo) objects to the delay on arresting Sonny.

Dante wants to give Sonny’s family one last good day with him and doesn’t see why that’s such a problem.

Ronnie contends that waiting could give Sonny a chance to catch on if he hasn’t already. Dante’s warned that Sonny might realize he’s working undercover. On The Haunted Star, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) is taken aback when Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) accepts his apology.

Luke feels like Liz is punishing herself enough over what she did to Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson).

Luke also feels like everyone makes mistakes and doesn’t think one blunder should erase all the good Liz has done. Lulu Spencer (Julie Marie Berman) arrives and is appalled to see Luke responding with compassion. After Lulu calls Liz a “lying piece of trash,” Liz decides that’s her cue to exit.

Lulu rants at Luke for his kindness to Liz, but Luke contends that Liz wasn’t the only one who did something wrong. Luke wonders where all the outrage is for Nikolas Cassadine’s (Tyler Christopher) part in all this. Although Lulu is upset with Nikolas, she holds Liz responsible for the pain Lucky’s in.

At the church, Josslyn Jacks’ christening is about to get underway. Sonny hasn’t shown up yet, but Jax thinks they should go ahead without him. Next, “Dominic” arrives to see Sonny and learns about a shipment that’s supposedly being sent out. Sonny argues that he doesn’t want it hijacked, so he expects “Dominic” to oversee things.

After Sonny suggests “Dominic” can be at the location by nightfall if he leaves now, Dante fires back that he’ll be dead by nightfall. He eventually determines that Sonny knows he’s a cop. Dante shows Sonny his badge as he tries to arrest him, but Sonny points a gun at Dante instead.

Sonny gives Dante a chance to speak before his death, so Dante reveals that he went after him because of Lieutenant Poletti – a man Dante looked up to and a pillar of the community. Sonny doesn’t even remember ordering the hit on Poletti, but he thinks Poletti must’ve had it coming.

Once Sonny snarls a goodbye, he fires a shot toward Dante’s heart. Dante falls to the floor bleeding as Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) barges in. Olivia’s frantic and aghast as she reveals that Sonny just shot his own son. Sonny looks deeply dismayed as he tries to work through his confusion.
