General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, September 21, reveal that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) arrived at the hospital for her test results when she ran into Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos).
Molly immediately saw the cast on Alexis’ hand, and Alexis told Molly about the fracture and about getting her test results today. Molly insisted on being present when Alexis got her results.
Later, in the exam room, Portia Robinson (Brooke Kerr) arrived to tell Alexis that she had Osteoporosis. Portia ran down the various treatment options and lifestyle changes that Alexis needed to make – the bottom line was that it was a manageable condition.
Molly wanted to hang out with Alexis for the rest of the day, but Alexis said that she wanted to be alone and that she was fine.
At Jordan Ashford’s (Briana Nicole Henry) office, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) arrived and soon learned about how Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan) died of a drug overdose. Curtis thought it was just a little too similar to how Jordan’s colleagues were murdered, but Jordan noted that Cyrus didn’t seem to know Neil at all.
Talk then turned to TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow), and Curtis shared how TJ was rallying the GH staff against Cyrus.
Jordan and Curtis were considering how to get TJ to stand down when Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) walked in, Curtis was thrilled to see his auntie, and Stella explained about being in town for Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) passing.
Stella then grumped a bit about TJ not keeping good correspondence with her, and she referenced Jordan’s stagnant investigation into who attacked TJ a while back. Curtis got fed up with the inquisition and bellowed at Stella, then left in a huff.
Soon, Curtis came back and apologized to Stella, and she apologized back for her words about Jordan.
At the Corinthos house, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Dev Corbin (Ashton Arbab) played checkers on the terrace and talked about missing Mike. Josslyn said that she didn’t feel like hanging out and planning for the homecoming dance right now.
Josslyn decided to skip going to see Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) for now.
In the living room, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) were talking about Mike when the doorbell rang. It was Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West), Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma), and Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola). Ava expressed her condolences over Mike’s passing.
Later, Sonny and Carly regrouped in the living room, and they talked about the need to tell Avery about her grandfather’s passing. Sonny considered waiting one more day to tell Avery, but Carly noted that Avery was perceptive and that she could tell that everyone was sad.
At the Metro Court, Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) was approached by Cyrus, who wondered when Laura Collins (Genie Francis) was coming back to Port Charles.
Lulu thought that Cyrus was asking too many questions about her mother, and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) got involved in the conversation, asking if there was a problem. Cyrus told Sam he was glad to hear that her significant other was doing better. Sam was unnerved.
In another area of the restaurant, Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) talked a bit about their baby on the way, then they joined Sam and Lulu in the dining area and talked about Cyrus and his reach in Port Charles.
Soon, Peter and Lulu sat down for a business chat – Lulu had an idea to put the Cyrus story in the hands of a national anchor or journalist. Peter gave Lulu the green light to explore it.
Meanwhile, over at a table, Cyrus was met by a henchman who told him that Neil overdosed on their product. And in another area, Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) discussed how they had postponed Nina’s pendant search for the time being so that Jax could support Josslyn through Mike’s death.
Maxie and Sam talked as well, with Maxie asking Sam if they were still friends, since Sam hadn’t congratulated her on the baby. Maxie said that it didn’t seem like Sam approved of her relationship with Peter, but Sam said that Maxie was one of her best friends. Sam hoped that Peter’s past was behind him.
Back at the Corinthos house, Jax arrived to check on Josslyn. As they stood on the terrace, Josslyn said that she cried a lot last night, but that today she was feeling all cried out. Jax encouraged Josslyn to go be with her friends because it’s what Mike would want for her.
Later, Avery and Sonny went to the terrace alone, and Sonny told his little girl that he had some bad news for her. Sonny said that her granddaddy loves her very much, and that he had been sick. Avery asked if she’d get to see grandpa today, and Sonny told Avery that Mike had died but that he was still in their hearts.
Avery asked if she could have a snack, and Sonny and Avery hugged sweetly. As Avery stood up, she dropped something, and Sonny picked it up. It was the half-heart pendant that Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) had dropped in the woods. “Avery, is this yours?” Sonny said, holding the pendant in his hand.
At Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) garage, Brando arrived to find Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) there and the place all cleaned up. Brando was grateful, and Jason took down the surveillance device that had ultimately saved Brando from Cyrus’ attack.
Jason had something to discuss, and he explained that it would no longer be possible for Brando to keep his distance form Sonny’s business.
Brando didn’t like the sound of that, but Jason said that he had a plan that would take both of them. Brando and Jason discussed the plan off-screen, then Jason left.
Soon, Dev arrived to get some advice from Brando, and as it turned out it was about Josslyn, who Dev has a crush on. Dev said that Josslyn made a move on him once, but that he blew it and now Josslyn appears to like Cameron.
Brando gave Dev solid advice, telling him that Josslyn probably still likes him, and that he should be himself and remind Josslyn how great he is, and if it’s meant to be, then it will happen.
Back at the Corinthos house, Jax and Carly talked, and Jax explained that he got Josslyn to go spend time with her friends after all. Jax wanted to know if Carly had told Sonny about Nelle yet, but Carly said no.
Jax thought that the fewer people who knew, the better, and that they should leave Nelle in the past. Jax said that he hoped anything incriminating stays gone along with Nelle. Just then, Jason walked in and spied Jax and Carly talking.
