General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that fans are still in shock over Neil Byrne’s (Joe Flanigan) deadly fate. Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was stunned when she couldn’t wake Neil up the morning after they made love. Neil’s body was ice cold – and Tuesday’s GH preview video shows Alexis in a total panic.
We’ve also got General Hospital spoilers for Tuesday that reveal a broken heart for Alexis. Some GH fans are holding out hope that this could be a nightmare, but it certainly seems to be the real deal.
Nancy Lee Grahn has been liking tweets from disappointed “Nelexis” fans, including ones talking about how much Neil will be missed.
Assuming this death sticks, that leaves us with a bit of a mystery to unravel: Why did Neil die? Although this is a sad outcome for Neil, many GH fans can’t help but laugh a little here.
It seems like Alexis sent Neil out with a literal bang! Was sleeping together just so intense that poor Neil’s heart couldn’t take it?
That might be the case if there was some underlying issue that Neil didn’t even know he had. Doing something that elevated his heart rate like that may have been tough on him.
Although Neil seemed fine immediately after, it still could’ve been the cause of a heart attack in his sleep later.
Then again, maybe there’s a deeper reason for Neil’s sudden death. Could this actually be a plot of some sort? Neil worked against Shiloh Archer’s (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) cult, Dawn of Day.
He was a huge part of breaking Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) free from that cult mentality.
Since there are still Dawnies out there, no one can rule out the idea of someone finally seeking revenge. Of course, revenge could come from other sources as well. Neil’s ex-wife immediately comes to mind.
Perhaps she blames Neil for their daughter’s death and didn’t want to see him happy. Grief can drive people down terrible, vengeful roads.
Regardless, this might even be a case where Neil was poisoned. Neil showed no symptoms, but he could’ve been given something that he reacted to in the night.
General Hospital spoilers say Alexis will be in a state of disbelief on September 8. Could that be due to an autopsy report? Could Neil’s cause of death come back as inconclusive or even point to signs of foul play?
It’ll be interesting to see where GH goes with this storyline. Whether this was murder or just a cruel twist of fate, there are some great possibilities to work with. As other GH updates emerge, we’ll pass along more news.
