General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nelle Benson Archer (Chloe Lanier) will keep her eye on the prize. Nelle wants full or at least joint custody of Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson), so she’s doing everything in her power to lock in some sort of win. This is something Nelle’s had in mind for quite some time.
GH fans will recall how Nelle made a vision board behind bars and planned her future with Wiley. From the moment Nelle got out of Pentonville, she’s been consumed with getting custody of her son. Unfortunately, it seems like Nelle wants to beat Michael, Carly and his family more than anything.
Although Nelle may care about Wiley on some level, it’s clear that defeating the enemy is her real priority. However, a kid’s future is on the line here! What happens if Nelle indeed scores full or joint custody? Reality may set in eventually, which brings us to a question Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) posed to Nelle.
Martin wondered if Nelle was really ready to be a mother. Nelle’s one of the most selfish people on the planet, so caring for another little human will be out of her comfort zone. It’ll be an adjustment if Nelle scores custody rights and has to learn how to care for Wiley. It’s easy to imagine Nelle feeling pretty in over her head!
Nelle won’t know what the heck she’s doing, and she knows nothing about Wiley at all. Nelle’s essentially a stranger to Wiley, so that could make it difficult to bond and leave the kid crying for Michael. Will Nelle find that motherhood isn’t what she thought it’d be? Will Nelle find herself drowning in toddler drama?
The truth is Nelle will probably be a terrible mom at first. It’s tough to imagine Nelle getting the hang of this immediately. Fortunately, Nelle has someone with great maternal instincts in her life. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) doesn’t know Nelle’s her biological daughter, but that revelation’s coming down the road.
In the meantime, maybe Nina could step up for Nelle as she tackles motherhood. Nina’s fantastic with Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez), so she could guide Nelle – all while not knowing she’s helping with her own grandson!
Grandma Nina might come through for Nelle, who’s bound to be a disaster of a mom until she gets the appropriate lessons. It’d be a good way to set up the mother-daughter General Hospital surprise to come. As other GH news pops up, we’ll give you all the hottest updates.
