General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) may need a new strategy. GH fans know Nelle seemingly plummeted to her death following that cliff fall, but no body’s been found. That obviously makes it likely that Nelle will come back – just as Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) predicted.
Of course, it’s possible Nelle will just show up to torment Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), but there’s really no need since Carly’s own mind is already doing that. Carly’s being “haunted” as she thinks back on what happened and wonders what Nelle’s real outcome was.
In other words, having Nelle actually “haunt” Carly would be more of the same. General Hospital already took that route when Nelle pretended to haunt Carly as Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig), so GH might choose a different story path this time.
There’s no way Nelle could’ve taken a fall like that without serious injuries. No one knows for sure what exact injuries Nelle might’ve sustained, but it’s reasonable to think Nelle might’ve suffered a blow to the head. Could General Hospital give Nelle amnesia? Better yet, could Nelle fake amnesia?
It’s possible Nelle now has no idea who she is or what she’s done. It’s equally possible that’s just an act Nelle will put on down the road. What if Nelle recovers, gets recognized and then gets arrested? Nelle might act horrified to learn about all her crimes – making Nina sympathetic and determined to get Nelle off the hook.
Nina might do everything in her power to make sure the current charges against Nelle were dropped. After all, “poor” Nelle wouldn’t remember! How could Nina blame a sweet, remorseful Nelle who couldn’t even recall her offenses?
That’s especially true if Nelle insists she deserves to be punished. Nelle could really play Nina like a fiddle here. Naturally, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and the rest of the Corinthos clan wouldn’t buy Nelle’s act – even if it happened to be real. That’d only make Nina more determined to fight for her daughter’s freedom and future.
Once Nina figures out Nelle is her biological child and Nelle comes back on the scene, an amnesia story might be the way to go. Could you see Nelle faking amnesia? Will Nelle have actual memory loss instead? We’ll keep you posted as other GH news and updates become available.
