General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will do what she can to make sure Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) gets a proper resting place.
Nina was appalled when Julian Jerome (William deVry) suggested that he’d give Nelle the burial she deserves. To Julian, that meant throwing his dead wife in an unmarked grave in a potter’s field!
Despite Nelle’s crimes and manipulation, Nina still has great empathy for her. She can’t help but feel like Nelle went down such a dark path because she felt lost, sad and unloved.
Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) was rather cold about the whole thing, but he’s hoping Nina will find a way to let go after the burial.
Of course, this burial may bring Nina’s maternal side out even more. Nina’s already feeling like Nelle was this poor, motherless soul who had no one to guide her.
There’s a protectiveness in Nina, even if she did throw Nelle under the bus during the custody battle. Nina still can’t shake the connection she feels to Nelle as someone who was desperate.
With all that in mind, Nelle’s burial site should become the venue for a showdown! Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will have a hard time finding closure on October 22.
It certainly sounds like Carly will pay a visit to Nelle’s grave and mull over how they got here. Carly isn’t sorry that Nelle’s gone, but she truly tried to save her enemy from falling off that cliff ledge.
On October 23 – the next GH episode after Carly’s closure attempt – she’ll get into a fight with Nina. There are a couple ways General Hospital writers could take this.
If Nina overhears Carly spill the story of what really happened that night, that’d definitely bring some drama. It’s not far-fetched considering how much guilty soap characters love talking to themselves.
Then again, Carly’s presence at the cemetery alone may be enough to rile Nina up. Nina may find it tough to believe that Carly would ever in a million years come pay her respects. No matter how this plays out, Nina’s most likely going to act like Carly only showed up to dance on Nelle’s grave!
