General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) really has a problem on his hands right now. Nelle Benson Archer (Chloe Lanier) has just walked on her assault and fraud. And because she sold her ELQ shares to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) for a pretty penny, she’s got money to pay for a big-time lawyer to sue Michael for custody of Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson).
Nelle and her lawyer seem to think that she’s got a good case against Michael for full and sole custody of the little boy. As Nelle recently told Michael, she plans on arguing that Michael’s family business poses a risk to Wiley’s well-being, and she’s banking on the courts siding with the mother.
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), who was also present during this exchange, then lashed out at Nelle, calling her “trash” and telling her that if she wanted a war against the family, then they’re ready. But really, shouldn’t it have been Michael calling out Nelle and telling her in no uncertain terms that she wasn’t going to get her hands on Wiley ever again?
Some fans were upset during the big baby swap reveal that Carly took center stage and was the one to express most of the outrage, rather than Michael himself. In fact, a lot of fans were wanting Michael to haul off and punch Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) for what he had done. But no, Michael just kind of stood there and let Carly say her peace.
Well, now that Nelle is walking free and threatening to take Wiley away from Michael, we’d say that it’s time for Michael to step up and let his ruthless side come out.
We’ve seen it before, like when he defended Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) against Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin). It seems like Michael has it in him to be ice cold and ruthless when he wants to be, but he just doesn’t let himself go there.
He really needs to stand up for his son and fight Nelle hard, and with everything he’s got. This “play it by the letter of the law” stuff just isn’t going to cut it where Nelle is concerned.
Perhaps Michael needs a shark lawyer on his team along with Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) to shake things up and really go after Nelle’s character. Maybe it’s time for him to fight dirty and make sure he wins this thing!
We’d say that if anything can get Michael to embrace his dark side, it would be the threat of having his son ripped away from him for the second time by Nelle. Seriously, if that doesn’t make him wake up and change his Mr. Nice Guy tactics, then what will?
